Onision VS DDLG/BDSM (and a Few Others)

Yes, that jerk.

So if you don't know who Onision is, he is a YouTuber who does not like to be judged and yet judges others. His main focus has been DDLG, which has obviously upset a few people in the community. He acts like we are "special needs" or are mentally ill. He also acts like the community is about being attracted to kids. Some of us do have special needs or have mental illness. Some of us also don't have daddy issues, which is another one of his ideas about the community. A couple has taken him to task on YouTube. Sadly there are more people like him, on and off YouTube.

Well, Onision (or people like him), we may have disabilities or mental illnesses but that's not why we are into DDLG. We don't have parent issues. It's also not abuse. If you are going to be a smartass who judges people, then we are going to take you to task. If you can't stand people judging you and hating on the way you live your life, don't do it to us. We do not force our kink on people. There are people who do act like this in public, but the majority of us know that this is wrong. I know a YouTuber has taken a couple to task for being kinky in public but we all don't do that. We do not have sex when we practice age play. Those that have sex in age regression or when they age play are looked at as odd sometimes even in the community.

Youtubers aren't the only ones who have problems with the community. It's most vanillas. They just don't see the purpose of the lifestyle and the good in it. All they know is the basics and they assume the worst. What happened to asking questions and doing research? What happened to not judging? What happened to live and let live? BDSM people sometimes have issues with DDLG too. BDSM people who don't get along with or judge DDLG people make things harder for the community. Technically DDLG is in the BDSM community because of power exchange. When you are not considered vanilla, should you really throw stones at other non-vanillas? The only time you should speak up in a negative way about a fellow non-vanilla person is if you see they are abusing or hurting someone or could hurt someone.

I will write about what the community isn't, but in this post, I wanted to address the fact that you can't believe everything you hear on YouTube about BDSM or DDLG. When I talk to newcomers, the curious, and the vanilla, I send them stuff that I know is the truth. There is so much hate and lies out there that it makes searching on YouTube or Google downright dangerous. What needs to happen is people who aren't in the community, hate the community, or are doing it wrong don't need to post about it on stuff like YouTube. If those who spread hate, negativity, or rumors about the community would stop, then maybe people would learn the truth. The community has been under attack for years and it has gotten worse with social media and YouTube. YouTube and the church sometimes are the worst about hating on the community. Two people I knew from high school and church judged me for being in the lifestyle. They turned very cold and distant, which shouldn't happen among friends. The world is too judgmental and it's sad when that includes your friends. Be kind and don't judge. It's that simple.

Thank you for writing this. I have a lot to learn, but I believe DDLG is a force for good in my life, and I’m sad to know that someone is bashing it on YouTube.
