When it's natural and when it's cause for concern

Given what we've all been through with COVID-19 over the last few years, it's understandable if your mind is on something other than sex. Aside from a dismal and lonely isolation, your sex drive, or libido, can be influenced by a variety of factors. When you're young and think you're supposed to be enjoying the best sex of your life, though, it can be a tough truth to accept. Although this isn't something that needs to be "fixed," you do have the ability to change things if you want to.

Read on to learn about some of the most prevalent causes of women's low sex drive.

What are the signs that I have a low sex drive?

It's a definite sign if you're having fewer sexual ideas and thoughts than normal. Another sign is a complete lack of sexual fantasies. If you're in a relationship, your spouse may have mentioned that you seem sexually indifferent or detached.

If the problem persists, you should get help from your primary care physician or gynecologist.

Stress in relationships

The ultimate catch-22. You may lose interest in sex as a result of relationship tension with lovers. Unfortunately, if you already have poor libido, this might lead to even more relationship problems.

When two women are emotionally attached, they are more likely to be sexually aroused by their relationships. For instance, whether they are content and joyful. If you have an unsolved dispute or a problem conveying your genuine wishes, you may experience mental stress, which will have a direct impact on your ability to let go. A lack of novelty with your sexual partner(s) might also leave you uninterested.

Pressure from society

If you believe you are unable to have honest sex owing to social constraints, norms, or stigmas, this will have a significant impact on your desire for sex. Every day, practice being your true self a little bit more. Purchase the look you've had your eye on on your "that girl" Pinterest board. Make a date with yourself to a museum. All of these measures will assist you in living in your truth without feeling compelled or ashamed.

Depression

A lack of drive to accomplish anything, including sex, is the most common sign of depression. Depression affects your hormones directly, generating an imbalance that lowers your sex drive. If you believe this is the cause of your low libido, seek out therapy services to get the best mental health treatment for you.

Birth control pills and other prescription drugs

Due to hormone fluctuations, several birth control treatments, such as Depo-Provera and the NuvaRing, induce a decrease in libido. If you don't like the way your birth control or other medicine affects your sex desire, don't stop taking it completely because this can lead to a myriad of other problems. First, talk to your doctor about the quality of life you want to achieve for yourself.

Antidepressants, antihypotensives (drugs that drop blood pressure), antiepilepsy drugs, and antipsychotic meds are all medications that can lower libido.

Lack of sleep or weariness

Fatigue is a bothersome symptom because it can be caused by a lack of sleep prioritization or a more serious cause such as anemia or a nutritional imbalance. Reach out to your health care provider if you've been prioritizing sleep but are still feeling lethargy and low libido.

Alcohol

Liquors might influence your ability to maintain arousal and climax, even if they are fantastic for stimulation and can occasionally help channel sensual energy.
