Love Based on Trust

Two years after Kolawole and Temitope started courting and doing their business together; both of them decided to take their love affairs to the next level, they visited chief Alarape in his mansion at Victoria Island Lagos; chief Alarape and his wife, the mother of Temitope welcomed the two lovers cheerfully; Kolawole was thirty-five, and Temitope was twenty-nine years old. Temitope was born rich with every good thing at her disposals as she was growing up in a palatial environment, but she was well brought up by her wealthy parents to respect poor people; even though Temitope was their last born, and she was the only girl amongst the four Alarape’s children, she was not spoilt.

All the Alarape’s four children were trained to fear God; chief Alarape was a Muslim, but his wife Mrs. Alarape was a practicing Christian, a Deaconess in her local Church. However, the first two boys were Muslims like their father, and the third boy and Temitope chose to be good Christians like their mother; and the family’s Motto: ‘Fear God, value the quality of others and treats every human beings with kindness.’

Despite Kolawole’s humble beginning, he had struggled through school at every level before he graduated from Lagos City Polytechnics, and he had studied very hard before he became a qualified professional Buyer from The Institute of Purchasing And Supply, Ascot England.

By Divine arrangement, he met Temitope who fell in love with him even when he had nothing to offer her; Temitope invested her personal money on him because of her love for him; and he had worked hard with the money to become a multimillionaire through the grace of the Almighty God and the supports of his former boss who trusted him because of his genuine honesty.

The Alarape family joyfully gave the two apparent lovers their consent for Temitope to marry Kolawole in the nearest future; even after a friend of Temitope’s mother hinted the Alarape’s family about Kolawole’s two children from his previous relationship with the late Mojisayo. Mrs. Alarape firmly told her friend; “We are aware of his two children and the unfortunate circumstances that brought those innocent children to the world.” The Alarape family approved the wedding without any reservation because they trusted the instinct of their daughter who was a good judge of people’s character; she must have noticed the sterling good nature of a honest man in Kolawole before she invested her personal money to upgrade him to her rich social status; Kolawole was no longer a poor man; he is a rich and a successful business man.

“Temitope had gambled with her personal money on the man she loves and she has won the jackpot of a good husband in that man!” Chief Alarape happily announced to his immediate family; and they all agreed with the chief. Kolawole took Temitope to visit his mother and his two children; Mummy Kolawole liked the young woman who had made her son rich; and she almost kneel down for Temitope in appreciation of what she did to her son when they first met, but Temitope held the older woman firmly in her arms before her kneels touched the ground, and it was a happy occasion also for Temitope when she met papa Adegbola the father of Kolawole, Mr. Adegbola, Temitope noticed; was still a handsome man at the age of sixty. “Now I know where you got your handsomeness from; your parents are handsome pair; and I am sure my parents would love to meet them,” Temitope said as she looked lovingly at Kolawole who gushed happily like a teenager who just received a lovely gift.

Temitope and Kolawole slept in the house which he had built for his mother and his two children; and on Saturday morning, Temitope said; “I love your children, they are so cute; when we get married; I would like them to live with us as one family before the arrival of my own kids.” Kolawole looked at her closely; he noticed she meant every word she said; “Thank you my sweet chocolate; but let’s leave them here with my mother for now, she is very fond of them; she may die of loneliness if I take the children away from her; however, at the appropriate time, we shall bring them or one of them to join us in Lagos,” Kolawole said as he kissed her on the lips.

Kolawole and Temitope got married few months after both families had done what is called; ‘Introduction Ceremony’ of the two families at the Alarape’s mansion in Victoria Island Lagos. The wedding was a grand and a successful ceremony; it was one of the best in their time. Few days after they returned from their honeymoon in Dubai; chief Alarape invited the new couple to his mansion, and he gifted the couple a five bedroom duplex in Bordillon road, Ikoyi Lagos as a wedding gift; and the document of the duplex was made in the name of Mr. Kolawole and Mrs. Temitope Adegbola. God blessed the happy and wealthy couple with two children later; a boy and a girl! The happy ending of Kolawole and Temitope’s double relationship as business partners and true and sincere lovers justified the means at last!!!
