EPILOGUE

It was absolute chaos everywhere in the entire solar system except Europa, which managed to stay in control as they still had their precious Lord who was still alive and ruling over their district.

With four Lords and Ladies who were dead, everyone was in panic. Crime rate went up on each planet and moon.

The fire, lightning, and wind katanas disappeared soon after their owners passed away. It was as if they vanished into thin air or never existed in this solar system in the first place.

Valentina was apparently missing, according to the Venusian samurais who found their dead Lady. They announced in the front of the entire solar system that Valentina murdered Lady Aurora and then fled. She must be found at any cost. She must be punished for what she did to their precious Lady. As in the result, the huge bounty, which was over one million pounds, had been added to her head.

Yet, nobody had ever seen her since then.

As the stranger who was waiting for Valentina? Nobody ever knew that he even existed.

~EUROPA~

Europa was one of the coldest moons with its exquisite ice covering its surface. Anybody else would have found it very fascinating.

Not even the glass dome was able to protect the Europans from the cold, so everyone always wore thick coats for the entire long year.

He exhaled lightly, making a small mist in the air, as he looked up at the snowflakes falling onto the glass dome.

A smirk was formed on his tan face as he pushed himself away from the wall he had been leaning against. He turned around to walk across the empty street. Even though they rarely had seen the sun, they were still using Jupiter that was hanging in the sky as their time, so most of the Europans were already in their warm beds in their warm houses, condos, apartments, or any building they called home.

He stopped when he spotted something that moved below his feet, so he looked down to find that water was rushing across under the icy floor. Any Outsider would find it very beautiful and interesting, but he had been growing up on this icy moon for his entire life. He mentally shrugged his shoulders as he continued on his way.

It had been twenty years since the fall of the lord and lady government system. Immediately following afterward, Europa became the solar system’s police system.

But that did not matter at all. He had to do it. Lady Aurora was an outsider. She was an alien. There was no way he would have allowed her to take over the solar system.

Not even Lord Yuki of Europa was aware of Lady Aurora’s true nature. He was more than surprised to find out that he was only one surviving Lord.

It took the unnamed Europan about an hour before he reached the dead end of the city where he could touch the glass dome. He glanced up at the dark sky with a big grin on his face, his dark brown beard failing to hide it. He pulled down his hood, revealing his messy short black hair so that he could see something clearly.

“There you are,” He said almost to himself as he spotted something very dark shifting a little bit in the sky. “You will never be able to steal our home!”

He had been expecting this moment for a long time… since the war between Earth and Mars ended.

He withdrew his purring katana and then sliced at his own shadow on the ground. It suddenly came alive as it stood up easily right in front of him.

“You know what to do,” He nodded his head toward the foreign object in the sky.

The shadow saluted as if it understood him and then slipped under the glass dome easily. It flew swiftly toward whatever was in the dark sky.

He was whistling as if he was minding his own business. He was playing with his sword, slicing and swinging around through the air, releasing the wave of the shadow, one by one. The shadow instantly got even bigger, covering the Yuki City completely, but no Europan was well aware of what was exactly happening. They might have noticed that Jupiter was gone, but they assumed that it was probably on the other side of Europa.

He almost laughed out loud as soon as he heard angry voice that was transmitted to his head through his own shadow, “That fucking shadow wielder again!”

“So, tell me, where are you going?” He calmly sat down on the floor with a big smirk on his arrogant face. He closed his bright blue eyes, which most women fell in love with because his eyes’ color popped out with his black hair. “Did you seriously think that you were going to sneak up on us and attack us just like that? Cowards!”

“You’re the one who is the coward! Where the fuck are you?! If you are here, then come out! Or else this boy is dead!”

He paused for a while with deep thoughts, being careful with what he was trying to say to the cowards. He was not sure who this boy they were telling him about was. He shrugged his shoulders.

But then, he was not the kind of person who thinks for more than fifteen seconds. “So, you have the boy? Good. I dare you to kill him.”

“I-I… E-excuse me?”

“You heard me.” He cut off the transmission coming from his own shadow. He got up from the floor and then created a small dark hole on the floor with his sword. He dropped his katana which fell into the black hole. He whispered almost to himself, “Sorry, but you have to wait until I come back to get you, okay?”

Somehow, even without his own katana, he waved his hand, creating a black portal right in front of himself. With a smirk that never went away from his face, he calmly walked through the portal.

~EUROPA~

He stepped out of the black portal, which disappeared into thin air. His face expression had not changed for the entire time he was inside the enemy’s spaceship.

He gently placed his hand on the smooth white wall, running the tips of his fingers across the wall. Soon, he was creating shadow just from his fingers all the way across the wall at either right and left.

“Halt, invader! Who goes there?!”

He glanced up to find two figures who were wearing heavy armors and holding the katanas. He snapped his fingers loudly.

Another black hole appeared below two soldiers and started dragging them inside as they yelped in surprise.

He was whistling cheerfully and loudly as he was walking through the hallway. He knew that there was supposed to be more than just two warriors, but it turned out that they were so scared of him that they refused to fight back.

How typical. They had seen this shadow wielder before and knew how dangerous it was to attack him.

He did not even bother trying to find the enemy. It was the captured boy he was interested in. He had his own shadow seeking every spot in the unknown spaceship.

He just wanted to see the boy with his own eyes. If they were keeping him alive and captive, then he must be very important to them.

As he expected, his shadow appeared coming up out of the floor snickering loudly. “So, you found the boy?”

“Hehehehe!” The shadow laughed before it rejoined its master’s body once again, giving him all information he needed.

He was wiping his black leather jacket with his own black-leather-gloved hands before he resumed his way for the boy again.

It did not take him a long time before he found the door where the captured boy was right behind. He placed his hand on the keypad and covered it with darkness. Soon, it started displaying a huge ‘ERROR’ before it shut down instantly.

He smiled widely as soon as the door swiftly slid open. His blue eyes landed on the trembling red-haired boy with freckles. “Well, hello there. Here you are.”

“Who are you?” The boy asked fearfully.

“Just nobody,” said the shadow wielder with a big grin on his face, almost comforting him somehow. “I’m here to get you out of here. Tell me who kidnapped you?”

“Aliens,” He mumbled softly. He was way too afraid to take the wielder’s offering hand so he just kept himself in the corner of the empty white room. “Are you an alien too?”

“Do you think I am?”

“N...no?”

“Whatever you think is fine with me. If you want to get out of here, then take my hand,” the shadow wielder’s hand was still being offered in front of the redhead boy.

The boy was staring at the stranger’s hand for a few seconds before placing his own hand on the other’s.

“Hn?” The shadow wielder spotted some burns on the boy’s hand. “Where did you get the burns?”

“I-I… I don’t know.” The boy mumbled in fear. “The burns just appeared after they kidnapped me.”

“Oh, I see,” the shadow wielder said softly. “Well, then. Hold on tight! Sooner or later, this spaceship will be completely gone.”

The boy cried in surprise when he got dragged by the shadow wielder who cast a black hole on the floor. They jumped into the strange hole.

~EUROPA~

The boy opened his green eyes, blinking in confusion. He had no idea what just happened. A second ago, he was in the locked room with the stranger.

As soon as he looked up, he was in complete awe at such a sight. He was looking at the shadow that was covering the city. It was slowly dissolving into nothingness as more and more of Jupiter, the giant gas planet, was appearing in the sky right in front of his eyes.

“We are on Europa,” the shadow wielder said as he placed his hand on the boy’s shoulder. He pointed at the yellowish brown planet. “Cool, eh? That’s Jupiter right there in the sky, kid.”

“What happened to them?” The boy asked curiously.

“Oh, they are in hell.” The wielder laughed almost cheerfully, which was unusual to the boy.

“H-hey! Where are you going?” The boy when the wielder began to walk away from him.

“If you don’t want to be alone, then come with me.” The wielder flashed a big grin at him. “I’m just going back to my place. Oh! Before I do…”

He bent down a little and placed his hand on the icy floor, creating the black hole once again. He thrust his hand into the hole suddenly before he pulled out his shadow-type katana easily.

“You have the katana too?”

The shadow wielder laughed out loud. “Are you implying that you have the katana as well, even though you don’t have it with you?”

“A-actually, I lost it. They took my katana.”

“Well, that’s too bad,” The black-haired man shrugged his shoulders as he began walking, on the way back to his place. “Let me guess… is it a fire-type katana?”

“Yes, how do you know?” The boy almost gasped in amazement.

“The burns on your hands,” The shadow swordsman nodded his head toward the redhead’s hands. The boy quickly pulled his hands behind his back, trying to hide them even though the adult had already seen them.

“Can you summon your katana, fire wielder?” The shadow wielder smiled at him.

“Fire wielder?”

“There was an Earthling named Kawa Takayama. He defeated the powerful Mars Lord with his fire sword alone! But as in the result, he sacrificed himself for the sake of the solar system. Afterward, his fire-type katana disappeared as soon as Kawa’s heart stopped beating. Amazing, isn’t it?”

The boy flushed lightly. “I-I guess… I can give it a try…”

As if it had been called, the black sword appeared on the boy’s hands suddenly. Almost immediately, the ashes vanished into the air as the sword returned to its formal form. “Whoa!”

“I knew that they would keep someone very important like you! My instinct was right!” The shadow wielder exclaimed in excitement. “Well, then, partner! It’s time to go!”

“Huh?” The red-haired boy blinked in amazement, his gaze fixing on the dark sky.

“What are you looking at, kid?” The shadow wielder asked as he stopped walking when he realized that the boy was falling way behind. He followed his gaze until he spotted something approaching faster and faster toward Yuki City.

“Oh fuck!” He cried as he quickly jumped in the air and sliced his katana through the man-made air, releasing a large wave of shadow which covered the city in an instant.

As soon as the Yuki City was covered in the darkness once again, a faint light beam had been shot from the large foreign object in the sky, heading straight for the wielder’s covered shadow. As soon as the light touched it, the shadow vanished instantly.

“What?!” The wielder shouted.

“What is happening?” The boy asked in panic. “Is it them again?”

“I thought I sent them into hell?! C’mon, kid! We have to get off this moon! It’s too dangerous!” The wielder grabbed the redhead’s burned hand and began running away.

“Why is it dangerous?! I thought you were able to take them down?”

“I did! At least until that motherfuckin’ light wielder pulled them out of my shadow!” The shadow wielder said. “It’s so annoying!”

Soon, the huge spaceship began to appear more and more as it got closer to the Yuki City. The citizens woke up to loud rumbling and started to freak out and panic around.

The boy realized that they were going to flee, leaving the Europans behind when the wielder created a black portal. “What about people here?! Can’t you save them just like you saved me?!”

“I can’t! I don’t have enough power! If you are a fire wielder, then you should know that we have our limits!”

“No!” The boy jerked his wrist away from the wielder’s hand. “If Europa falls, then what will happen to the rest of solar system?”

He is right. The shadow wielder thought to himself. All lords and ladies, except Lord Yuki, are dead. But…

“Sorry!” The shadow wielder flashed a big grin at him as he waved his katana at the icy floor. Another hole was created below the red-haired boy. He winked at him before the boy disappeared into the hole. “I’ll see you soon!”

He turned to the approaching and roaring spaceship. He tapped his toe on the floor once, creating another hole once again. As if he was being watched by the aliens somehow, he snickered, “Hehehe! Sooner or later, we will find a savior who will defeat you! So, see you later, aliens!”
