The Tapestry. Top Story - June 2026.
Often, what you imagine of a place drives how you fit into that dream. But dreams are for when you your subconscious is synthesizing what cannot be fathomed. Romantic ideals, or bitter experiences, can blind how things are seen, translated and understood.

Sunlit Absence. Top Story - June 2026.
You are pure poetry Your lips taste like the darkest void, a treasonous valley,of which I have lost myself unduly And set to roam its peaks foreverYour skin is the salt of deathYour heart a welcomed restThese words pierce my soulMake me whole, make me yours, Drown me in love, let me be absoluteSame as the sea foam swallows the shoreDo not let me float half-lit in the starry skyI am not your soft excuse or your safe fallFlood my chest and hold me bareMy night is certain, abandoned, without a care, You deliberately sink me into dusk where waters are velvet and air is warm. We are an immersion. We do not crave comfort with other creatures. We demand room for pain and truth. We are perfect, we are standard, we are beautifully and recklessly undone.

Mercy on Maple Street. Top Story - May 2026.
This was now the fifth night I felt it. That tinge in the air. The unmistakable feeling of being watched. Every night for three months, I had no choice but to walk home. That's how long it'd been since Dax left. Three whole months. And now, he was enjoying the college experience while I was still stuck in this shit town delivering waffles and mediocre coffee to bigoted customers.

Sacrifice of The Sleeper. Top Story - May 2026. Content Warning.
They were not meant to save her. Everything that we had worked so hard to achieve and brought fruition and they destroyed it within five seconds. They were not meant to save our sacrifice to the Creature from next door. She was meant to lie in a deathlike sleep even as it ate her from toe to head. Never meant to wake up ever again. So that our homes would be spared from what was to come for all of us.

An Unfulfilled Dream. Top Story - May 2026.
This was always my childhood dream. Before I understood what I was staring up at I wanted to be part of it. Twinkling lights created pictures in the blackness of space. They called to me, enticing my young mind to explore their domain. Like all of us, what was important to me then transformed into something completely different as I aged. The luster of the stars has dulled. What draws me now is one speck of light where a new year is being celebrated. It’s where I long to be, celebrating with those I’ve left behind and knowing it’s impossible.

The Wolves. Top Story - May 2026.
There are things worse than wolves in those woods, trust me. When you hear their howl, run. Chief Ranger Talin’s warning echoed in her memory as Liv crawled on hands and knees through the undergrowth. Ahead of her, little Tivar crawled with the eagerness of a puppy. If her parents caught her out of bed and beyond the gates...That thought annoyed her even further. Her fourteenth harvest drew near, and yet they insisted on treating her like a child still.

The Old World. Top Story - May 2026.
He bent down and dug his fingers into the dry dirt of the arroyo. It hadn’t seen rain in a month or more he surmised. His horse needed water. So, did he. He stood and surveyed the flat arid land around him. Except for the way he’d came. Couldn’t go that direction and if anyone was following him, they knew where he was. In the west, once his eyes adjusted to the bright white of the scorched desert ground, something took shape. A church tower. A town. A long way out still. He couldn’t push the horse much harder without water, so at least another day through the desert heat. There was nothing for it. Do or die. If it was a ghost town and there was nothing there to drink, he’d die anyway.
