There’s a tita in me. And she nags in my ear like my grandmoddah to my grandfoddah when she wants to come out and play.

“Tita out!” She screams. “Tita out, now!”

Most of the time I pretend not to hear her. I try to behave like the western world says a good, civilized woman should behave; polite, dainty, mouth shut, legs open.

But sometimes, the tita inside me bursts from her cage and…

Pau!

She tell you like it is. Mek you laugh, mek you sing, mek you like hide yo’ kids.

And den,

All-a-sudden,

Poof!

Gone.

Banal again.
