It was a beautiful sunny day in an unknown forest on an unknown planet in an unknown galaxy that no one has ever been to. This Unnamed and unknown planet was strange, it had two suns, one on each side of it so it never saw night and the temperature never got below one hundred, it also had one moon. That isn’t the strange thing though, this planet was the only one around it for light years. There was plenty of water, there were oceans, lakes, rivers, it looked like paradise and when it rained it was nice and warm. This strange planet had beautiful, lush forests, which spanned for miles but the other thing that made this planet special is that the trees and plants could communicate with each other telepathically. One tree could talk to any other plant life around the planet, even those underwater. There was no other life, no animals, nothing at all.

“Good morning, everybody.” One tree groggily saying to the others.

A bunch of other trees answered. “Good morning.”

They don’t have names; They just can single out one or talk to any plant on the planet.

“The rain felt great earlier, I could feel it in my sleep, the water going all the way down to my roots, I can feel my flowers starting to bloom.”

“Yeah, it was nice. Was there any flooding, everyone ok?”

All the plants communicated everything was well. It wasn’t a bad storm just rain but when a storm does come through, it can raise havoc and in times like this all the plants and trees try to be there for each other.

“Look over here, there’s something falling from the sky, I wonder what it is?”

“It looks like nothing I’ve ever seen, what do you see?”

“It’s shiny and its getting closer, it’s beautiful.”

The plant and trees on this untouched planet didn’t know that was a ship with living beings about to land, It won’t be a virgin planet anymore.

“What a sight.” Captain Randell said.

“I’m still not getting any life signs on the surface. The air is breathable but It’s 125 on the surface, we should wear our suits.”

“Agreed Mr. Bellows.” The captain said.

“We’ll be on land in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, engines on cooldown sir.”

“Very good Bellow.”

“Sir, I’m getting a strange reading, it’s almost like what we see on our sensors when we talk to the Chof. Someone is down there, and they may communicate telepathically too.” ensign Molat said

“Can you make out what they’re saying?

“No captain, but I’ll see what I can do. If anything, we’re recording it, we can bring it to the Chof and see what they can make of it.

“Very good”

The captain typed something on his arm communicator then walked to airlock 4.

Chief Gibsons voice came over the captain’s communicator “Sir we have no way to contact anyone, comms are somehow being blocked somehow sir.”

“Can you send some drones to drop some communication buoys out.”

“We don’t have enough buoys to get to a spot where we can communicate sir.”

“We’ll have to make our first away mission short, even though it looks like we’re the only ones out here, we may not be.

The members of the away team got what they needed and headed out.

Once they got to airlock 4 captain Randell said, “Ok let’s stick together for a while till we know our surroundings a bit before we split off.”

“Yes Sir!” everyone said in unison.

Everyone put their helmets on and walked outside. They seemed to be alone, nothing but dirt, rock, plants and water from a nearby lake.

“Ci. take some water and soil samples.”

“Yes sir” Ci answered.

“These things move, I don’t know what they are.”

“Just keep an eye on them.” One tree told the others.

Science officer Ci walked by the lake and looked at it. It was the clearest body of water he ever saw. He knelt and took a sample with a small shovel and put it in a test tube and marked it “soil sample 1 and date 3-10-2115 at 3:24pm. Then he took out another test tube and took a water sample then labeled that as well, then scanned both.

“No microbes, nothing. I’ll have to do some tests on the ship, this is incredible.”

Ci put both samples in a pouch inside his bag, then joined the party which started walking again. As they walked Doctor Ford took samples of leaves and bark from the trees.

“That doesn’t feel good, one of them is ripping off my children and digging into me.”

“Why are they doing that, we should try and communicate with them.”

“Sounds come out that moving hole, which must be how they communicate.”

The nearest tree tried to telepathically communicate with the landing party but there was no luck.

“It seems we can’t communicate with them.” A tree sadly said.

“Ok, I think we can split off into groups of two, lets meet back at the ship in three hours, we have to transmit what we found to headquarters.”

Ci walked up to a boulder and shot it with her laser pistol and a piece of the rock broke off, she put it in a box and then took a cut off a small branch from a close by tree.

“I see what you mean, that does hurt. I hope they leave soon.”

“Sir, you better come back I’m reading a massive storm coming. I’ll hit us in 21 minutes.” Ci said while looking at his tablet.

“Thank you, Lieutenant” The captain replied.

“Let’s leave now everybody, back to the ship.” The captain ordered the away team.

The away team headed to the ship.

“Ensign Guintu we’re ok to take off.” The captain said when all of the away team were on board.

“Yes sir”

The ship slowly lifted off the planet surface and turned around and headed toward their ship.

“Good, they’re gone.” One of the trees said

The shuttle docked with the SS Roddenberry and the captain took a grav pod to the bridge.

“You made it out in time, look at that.”

The captain looked at the screen, the storm looked devastating.

“Winds over 200 miles per hour, I’ve never seen such rain.” Bello commented.

The ship just stayed there a bit, people looking out of windows, some of the bridge crew watching the screen. They collected some information from the ships sensors then they were on their way.

“Let’s be on our way Mister Bello”

“Yes sir.”

The ship turned around and took off back to normal space and told command about the strange planet they saw.

This wasn’t the last time the planet had beings on it, not by far.
