The Sun And The Moon
In the beginning, The Sun loved the Moon devotedly. They went everywhere together and spent every moment with each other. The only thing that mattered to The Sun was The Moon and the only thing that mattered to The Moon was The Sun. The Sun and The Moon were so happy together and they told each other that they would always be together and never part. They were truly in love with each other, and they were sure they would never part.
Then The Sun found new loves and told the Moon that he would take the day and she must stay in the Night.
The Moon asked why this should be but the Sun would not speak anymore to the one who had shown him love, and always been there for him.
The Sun said they had spent far too much time together and he wanted to find a new love, and he no longer cared for The Moon.
The Moon was so sad that her love, The Sun, now disdained her and would not countenance her anymore. Tears began to fall as she became more and more sorrowful.
Her sorrow was so great that she cried so much that her tears fell as rain on the Earth, swelling lakes, rivers seas, and oceans. The Sun still ignores The Moon, pursuing new loves and The Moon cries when she remembers how they loved each other so much.
Every time that you see the rain fall, that is The Moon weeping for her lost love.
Every time you see a river or a lake, that is the tears from the sadness of The Moon.
Every time you stand on the seashore and look out at the ocean, you are looking at the tears The Moon has shed for The Sun.

And so the moon brings gentleness and life, and the sun gives us cancer.
The Sun is an asshole and a douchebag! The Moon deserves better! Screw the Sun! I would love to see the Moon take revenge on the Sun!
Beautiful myth and story, Mike! Great take on the challenge :)
And the moon still sneaks her chances, drawing closer with every bit of waning, until sneaking away unnoticed(?) as she waxes again.
Classic! A beautifully crafted story. Brilliant work on this, Mike!
Nicely done, Mike.

Oh this is so beautiful mike, A complete fairy tale in a few words. Bravo. Still and sad as this is, we needed them to be apart. How else would we cope on earth?
