I was pushing the cart along, serving the passengers their drinks and food. I was getting hungry myself, but I was going to have to wait. I was paying close attention to the passengers eating sweets, as it made their blood taste like sugar.

There was one kid sitting up front who ate a lot of gummy bears. I would kill for a sip of his blood, but his parents would notice he was missing. I'd have to take care of the parents first, but they had the fish and a couple margarita's. I wasn't in the mood for anything salty, and if there buzz transferred to me, I'd likely have to stay in my secret room until I sobered up. My secret room in the corner was where I brought the passenger who I was going to feed on so the other passengers wouldn't see me slurping and flip out.

I decided I could ignore the fish flavored blood and to deal with the father first. It would all be worth it to drink the blood of that sweet, sweet kid. He ate so much candy.

"Excuse me sir, you've been upgraded to first class. Would you mind coming with me?" I asked.

"What? Really? Why?" He asked.

"We have a few empty seats up front and we decided to upgrade some lucky passengers," I responded.

"Well, I don't want to abandon my wife and kid," He said.

"Don't worry, I'll see if I can get them upgraded too. In the meantime, come with me," I said.

The man unbuckled his seat belt, stood up and started to follow me. I lead him to the staff lounge and locked us in.

"What is this? What's going on?" He asked. I pressed my fingers against my lips and hushed him. I put him into a trance, sank my teeth into his neck and drank his blood. Some people survive with just enough blood in their bodies to keep their heart pumping and come back as fellow vampires. This was usually a good thing, because this would leave no evidence to cover up. This time, I had left no blood. I was so hungry. I'd have to drop the body out the hatch. I dragged him to the airplanes floor hatch, which I had proudly made myself on a prior flight, and dropped him out.

I walked back to the mother and child.

"I've managed to get you two the same upgrade. You can now sit with your husband," I said to the woman. They got up and started to follow me. I took them to the same room and attempted to put them both into a trance.

The mother was easy, giving me the blank stare one gives when hypnotized. The kid, however, seemed to me immune.

"Look, lady, I don't know why your trying to hypnotize us, but I'm immune. Between my allergy medication and the amount of sugar I had today, it's not going to work," the kid said.

"That's fine, as long as your mother's not around to protect you," I said, smiled and lunged at him.

"Whoa you're crazy," He shouted and I put my hand over his mouth and sunk my teeth into his neck.

"Mrph," he tried to scream in pain.

I started drinking his deliciously sweet blood, enjoying every flavor of candy pumping through his sugar filled veins when my face started burning.

"Aaahhh, what the hell is happening?" I screeched and jumped back.

"Whoa, are you a vampire lady? Is that why you hypnotized my mom and started to drink my blood. You should know my braces are made of silver," he said and smiled.

"Ugh. That's a shame. Your blood was so delicious," I said.

"Wait, does this mean I'm going to turn into a vampire too?" The kid asked.

"You survived, so yes. Any survivors of vampire bites turn into vampires," I said.

"Whoa, cool. Just don't tell my mom, she'll freak out," He said.

"Not if I turn her into a vampire too. That would be better for you because then she can keep the both of you out of the sun," I said.

"Works for me. Go ahead and turn her," I said. I didn't know if this kid hated his mom or just thought vampires were cool, but I liked him.

"High five kid," I said and he slammed my hand. I took a few sips of her blood, and her and her kid slowly turned into vampires.

"What... what did you do to me?" The mother asked when she finally came out of hypnosis.

"Don't worry mom, we're both vampires now. As long as we stay out of the sun, we'll live forever," the kid said and smiled. The mother sat down and started crying.

"Don't worry ma'am, you'll get used to it. Life will be better with your new abilities. They're an... upgrade, if you will. Just like your new seats in first class. Speaking of which, let me show you to your new first class seats. I hope you enjoy the upgrade," I said, smiled and lead the mother and child to their new seats.

"I think I need another drink," the mother said.

"What would you like?" I asked.

"A Bloody Mary," she responded.
