Upon walking through the door, Dora was immediately bombarded. Her daughter was being lured down another rabbit hole, obsessing over yet another online conspiracy theory. The Glitching, the kids were calling it.
This time it was a classmate’s missing goldfish. According to Lina, the girl was in hysterics(apparently, The Glitching was contagious).
“Alex swears he saw a car vanish into thin air yesterday.” Lina prattled on. “With someone inside.”
The TV pulled Dora’s attention away from her daughter: “We’re receiving numerous reports of Fremont High students vanishing…”
Wait… “Where’s your brother?” Dora asked the now empty room. Lina was gone.

I want this movie in my head to continue...
Like others have said, on conspiracy theories, while I am by no means supporting them. I think, in a funny way, like stereotypes that people are so quick to refute, conspiracy theories have to come from somewhere. Someone had to start the fire. That aside, this is a fine piece of intriguing and mysterious horror. It also sounds like there is potential for more... Great job!
Oh my, this is soo intriguing! The concept of "glitching" is so creepy to me and definitely added a divine eeriness to this! It could happen, exactly like this...in our own matrix 😅 I would love to read more of this story! ❤️
So spooky. I admit I follow conspiracy theories… and a few have later turned out to be true. I was reading about Weinstein and Epstein and the “Lolita express” years before they made the news. I actually do think we’re in a simulation, but not the way other people think, because I think each of us controls it to some extent. Like there isn’t some mastermind behind it, it’s just humanity, and life is a lucid dream. Needless to say, you got me thinking! How you fit such a powerful story into a micro, I don’t know.
Love it … 😎
Oh my, definitely a glitch in the matrix! Loved this glitchy story! Brilliant work!
Oooooo, this is intriguing!
Do I detect a small glitch in your.............
I like the sound of this Glitching. Buh-bye, brats! Just kidding -- kids are cool. Sometimes. 😄 Another cleverly crafted microfiction from the House of Aphotic. Loved it. 🖤
