The Giant Seashell

The Ship Captain announcement, “Cover your ears! Ahoy Mateys”. The Captain already made a ear plug for this trip.

The beautiful mermaid siren of her voice activate the Giant Seashell to suck the ship in.

The ship sunk deep in the sea, before everyone was able to drawn, the mermaid already captured their souls.

“How many souls did you capture, Melinda?”, Kokela asked her sister.

“Just ten today, they were delicious.” Melinda responded.

“ It’s my turn, for the next ship that passes our way.” Kokela reminded her elder sister.

“Remember, if there is an animal on the ship, we cannot get the human souls.” Melinda reminded her sister.

“Why is that?”

“You will be trap in the Giant Seashell forever.” She told her younger sister.

“I will make sure, that the ship has no animals.” Kokela promise her sister.

2 months later, Prince Albert had a mission to find out why their kingdom’s ships are alway sinking in the bottom of the sea.

Prince Albert brought his horse with him on this voyage to get to the bottom of this mystery. His grandfather told him the merfolks are afraid of animals. He was also told that mermaids feed off the human souls.

They finally enter the sea, where there was a legend of a mermaid, sinking ships and feeding off the human souls who dare goes through this path.

Prince Albert, made his assistant blow the horn of warning.

Kokela heard the horn and started to used her siren only Melinda stopped her.

“What now? Why are you stopping me?” Kokela was getting annoyed.

“Listen, do you hear that?” She asked Kokela.

Kokela stop swimming focus to hear.

There was a neigh sound coming from the ship.

Prince Albert horse was getting agitated.

“We must let this ship pass.” Melinda told her sister.

“I will never get my souls.” She pouted.

“Set the sails my loyal men.”

Prince Albert thought his horse to swim.

He order his men to get the deck ready. He plan for his men to lower him and his horse. They plan to investigate the sea bottom for a few minutes.

The mermaid won’t touch him as long as he is with his horse.

The mermaid watched from a distance, when they saw a man and a horse being lowered from the ship to the waters.

“ Kokela, here is your chance, you must used you sleep siren to get the man off the back of the horse, then you can have his soul.” Her sister adviced her.

Kokela could not get her eyes off Prince Albert. She did not even pay attention to her sister’s hand signals to sing her lullaby siren.

Prince Albert, intrigued and attracted Kokela. The horse noticed the mermaids. The horse started to swim back up to the surface of the water.

“What’s the matter, Thor. You seem to got spooked.” Albert try to comfort his horse agitation before they both drawn.

Prince Albert, commanded for his men to take them aboard the ship from the deck board that was still floating in the water and attached to the ship with strong ropes.

The horse and the Prince was back on ship. They headed back to the kingdom without any clues what happen to the wrecked ships at the bottom of the sea. Only Thor the horse knows what really happen.

Kokela fallowed the Prince’s Ship against her sister’s wishes. Kokela was fascinated by the Prince and the horse.

Kokela get excited whenever she see an glimpse of the Prince riding his horse near the beach. She forgot all about wanting to eat human souls.

  • Kokela is such a beautiful name! Also, I never knew that mermaids cannot drown a ship if an animal is about it. Poor Thor but he saved them. And awww, Kokela likes Prince Albert. Just like how Ariel fell in love with Prince Eric! I just loved your story so much!
