First day
Celine kept her arm around me while she lead me down the long hallway. After a minute or so she opened a door to the right. Leading the way inside I saw a sewing machine, fabric, boxes with clothes, and a wooden room divider against the wall. "I'll need to take your measurements and it would be best without the blanket", Celine said. Shocked I flinched at the thought of removing the blanket.

Tomorrow Never Comes
The first rays of sunlight spread across the paddy fields like liquid gold. The village slowly woke to the sounds of roosters crowing and distant cowbells. A cool breeze danced through the green fields, carrying the scent of wet earth and fresh grass.

The Back Story
What some see as simple, others know is pure insanity coming to attack them or the ones they love. It happens. One never forgets some moments in time. There are those special things like the birth of your first child, graduations, and of course, weddings. They seem so mundane, but that's because few know the entire stories of the different people experiencing them. That's the rub of the world and those events. Nothing's ever as easy or normal as it seems. How could it be, when there are humans involved?

Offness. Honorable Mention in They Shouldn’t Have Come Here Challenge.
A sharp hit to my ribs jolts me out of my deep sleep. I don’t remember falling asleep at Connor’s place but I guess I must have. My hand jumps to the sure-to-bruise spot. Maybe Connor let his dog in from the cold. Maybe it jumped up on the couch with me and took my breath away with its pouncing paws.

And while everyone had their reasons for it, it didn’t make him feel any better. So obviously he overcompensated by trying to be “outgoing” and “funny”.

The Day We Didn't Skip Rocks on the Lake. Winner in You Had to Be There.
Darren picked out the rock I did not skip. He spent minutes, head down toward the speckled sand, searching for the flattest, smoothest stone. While I sat under his umbrella, watching his curly hair fluff up in the wind.

The Basket House
October 18 It was a chilly afternoon in the neighborhood of Majesty Oaks Estates. The autumn breeze is blowing this afternoon, and it is a safe haven for both the birds in the trees and the neighborhood kids at play. One could say this was the safest neighborhood around. I find this neighborhood to be relaxing during the holiday season. Today, I must finish my last assignment before I graduate. I’m feeling anxious, but I am having faith that this project will go well.
