The Blind Woman at the Bus Stop
He was a callous bastard. This proved it all the more. I knew it from junior school. He'd take a kid's sandwich, bite into it, spit it out and crush the rest in front of them. His laughter would be maniacal, especially if the kid cried.

Perfect Little Pirate. Top Story - April 2024.
The rough, sodden rope bit into her fingers as she swung over the roiling water far below. Reaching out with the toe of her boot, she managed to catch hold of the rain-soaked railing of the ship- and promptly slipped. Throwing herself forward, she landed hard on the deck, slamming her elbows against the wood planks. Her sharp yelp of pain quickly bubbled into a laugh, and she rolled onto her back, laughing up at the gray sky as a torrent of rain washed away the soot covering her skin.

Stick A Fork In Me. Content Warning.
The microwave beeped once as I opened it to toss my prepackaged roast and potatoes into its waiting maw. It lay haphazardly on the glass turntable, staring at me balefully as I slammed the door in its face and pushed the quick-start button, number one. The front office door opened and I glanced at it just as William walked in. I nodded an absentminded greeting to him before I realized two remarkable things simultaneously.
