Short Story
The Song of a Dying Star
Alexa wasn't built for heroism. With her perpetually oil-streaked overalls and a mop of unruly brown hair that defied all attempts at taming, she was more comfortable tinkering with salvaged tech in her garage workshop than navigating the social minefields of high school. Yet, here she was, hurtling towards the heart of the unknown, cocooned within the cramped confines of a repurposed escape pod.

the sad cloudy bird.
In the ethereal domain of Glow, where mists murmured mysteries of the skies and painted dusks with tones of dreams, carried on with a herd of birds dissimilar to some other. These were the Shady Birds, creatures of fog and fume, fragile as morning dew yet having the effortlessness and opportunity of their natural partners. Their plumes sparkled with the radiance of the sun, and around evening time, they gleamed delicately under the vigilant look of the moon.

A Real, Honest to Goodness, Tree
It was grey for a long time. All my life. All da's life. And then, out of the blue, or grey, or whatever, came green. Like in the old stories. We oohed and ahhed over it. Took the kids along of it. And Gramma, too. Wheeled her down there, watched her old face crack and brighten.

Dreams That Decode
Jack sat at his cluttered desk, his tired face shadowed by the dim monitor light. He was a seasoned programmer who was well-known for his unwavering work ethic and unrivaled ability to solve problems. With disheveled hair and glasses roosted problematically on his nose, he was the quintessential coder, lost in the maze of his own creation. In spite of his standing for figuring out the hardest code, this evening he ended up at a stalemate. The lines of code before him obscured into a unintelligible wreck, a glaring difference to the unmistakable rationale that typically directed his psyche. Each tick of the clock felt like a thunderclap in his ears as the project deadline loomed menacingly in just two days. He felt the unrelenting grip of stress, which got stronger with each passing hour. Jack's certainty faltered, an interesting event for somebody who flourished under tension. However, the heaviness of assumption and the apprehension about disappointment overwhelmed him, taking steps to smash his soul.

The mirror doesn't lie
### The Mirror Doesn’t Lie #### Chapter 1: Reflections Sarah stood in front of the old, ornate mirror that had been a fixture in her family’s home for generations. She had always been fascinated by the mirror, convinced that it held more than just her reflection.

Whispers in the Fog
Whispers in the Fog The fog rolled in thick and heavy, enveloping the small coastal town of Ravensbrook in a shroud of gray. It was a familiar scene, yet it never failed to send a chill down the spine of anyone who dared to wander its deserted streets after dusk. The town had its secrets, buried deep within its history, and the fog seemed to carry whispers of those long-forgotten tales.

Leonie's Heart of Darkness
"Carnal desire mixed with dark and depraved inhibitions coursed through his veins as he grew bolder, waiting impatiently to release his magic on her. Knowing she didn't matter to him, he ignored her fears. A prop. That's all she was. Her innocence; irrelevant. Leonie. Sweet little Leonie was nothing more than a prop in his play, and he forgot all about her while he prepared the final potions."
