Zircon - Chapter 4
I woke with a warm wet and slimy tongue across my face. I push Zeke away and sat straight holding on to the steering wheel. The windshield is complete shattered. The truck is covered in dust and plant matter. Zeke starts to whine and bark. “Shhh, be quiet!” I snapped at him while holding my head. I have an unbearable headache. I looked at myself in the rearview mirror and my right eyebrow is cut open. I’m bleeding. With the back of my hand, I wipe the blood away from my eyes. It was still dark. I passed out probably for like 15 to 20 minutes. I don’t know, I guess. Don’t really feel like looking at the time. I open the door to inspect the damage. I walk out the truck. The front is completely dented inwards. The right headlight is broken. White smoke is coming from the sides of the hood, most likely a broken radiator. Not to mention the front axle of the truck looks a bit funky. “Damn this is going to cost me!”

There was something wrong with something. The rancher's market hummed around him, his arms weighty with his material sacks filled to the edge. There'd been a wonderful determination of candles today. Presently he held up among the ocean of mankind in the square for the wavy haired seller to wrap his new trimmed blossoms. An acoustic band played on the lookout, twangy notes skipping off tents and obfuscated with the voices of the group. He connected for his wrapped bouquet cheerfully while alerts rang in his mind.

Ignorant Delight
I could almost feel the bristles of my thumb each time it touched the screen and slid upwards. Like the most uncomfortable feeling of a sip of coffee taken too quick. After the initial shock subsides, the tongue, recoiled in your mouth, unfolds, feeling the backs of your teeth only to be met with a sensation of a thousand little bristles now resting on its tip. I wondered if my thumb ever felt the same. Maybe it was angry, a quiet insubordinate. Beaten down, raw and uncomfortable from endlessly scrolling second by second. It didn’t matter if it was a book, the news, or just pictures, the task was the same…adjust the frame, scroll up to the bottom, back to the top. Day in and day out my thumbs insanely complex structure was reduced to a water turbine, but instead of churning water weight into energy, I reduced it to turning information into anxiety, stress, and eventual overload.

The trio paused and looked around. Hey, I know that voice, it’s Electromagnus! Jericho exclaimed. Indeed, and I require your presence in Spectra it’s urgent! A whirlwind surrounded the three kids and they warped through space. As they arrived in Electromagnus’ home, Proton Temple, the kids saw the worried wizard pace around his crystal ball. Hey Magnus, it’s been a while, how is everything, asked Hunter. I wish I could say things are fantastic but the complete opposite, because Spectra is in grave danger. What’s going on? Lita asked.
