Rich Space
Bernard turned off his jackhammer and wiped his brow. It was extremely hot in the garage. The massive asteroid in front of him was made up of iron and gold. Bernard could hear his associates' jackhammers echoing from all over the asteroid. He turned towards the main station and looked at the clock. Before he could do anything the familiar ring echoed through the large chamber. The intercom blasted out the voice of their boss, Ricardo.

Sako
Sako The Ruins of Dawn 1,000 years ago there was a beautiful town known as Dawn. Dawn glowed with white and yellow streets and a beautiful turquoise sky. The rifters and humans lived in peace. The town was known for the abundance of rifters among the town. Sako was a rookie rifter before the war took place. Sako had the potential to become the strongest rifter in his existence. Rifters were automatically granted superspeed, strength, weapon enhancement, and the ability to go in between worlds. Their armor was so sleek it looked like a part of them, courtesy of nanotech. Each rift had their own unique color to their armor. In 3076 the war of the Rifts took place. The humans got jealous and believed they should have these powers as well. They fought for 500 years non-stop, until finally Sako rose up to release one final attack. “Stop the fighting now!” Sako was left all alone with no rifters or humans around. Sako was left all alone in the ruins of Dawn, he decided to rest after his battle. Dawn didn’t glow at all anymore there was a grey shadow hovering over it with no light to be seen. Another 500 years later travelers went to visit what was left of Dawn. They searched for hours looking for just any little scrap of something valuable. They found a yellow armor lying in the middle of the street with Sakos body inside. There was a code on the right chest piece of his armor. They pressed the code in and then Sakos armor awoke him from his slumber. “Who am I, why am I here, who are you people!” Sakos memory appeared to be lost after his blow in 3576 he must’ve torn himself apart. “Sako? That’s the name on your right shoulder, there was a huge war centuries ago we believe you were a part of.” The travelers desperately wanted a guardian in case of another war was to break out. Sako was willing to make a deal with them, “ Tell me who the two of you are and help me find who I am then maybe I’ll consider working with you.”

STRIKE
STRIKE By Tanika Smith Wheatley Ironically, it was one of those brilliant sunsets, with pink and orange clouds smeared across a crimson canvass sky. Hardly a breeze stirred, hardly a sound could be heard. Cool and silent, like the calm before the storm. I was hardly aware of anything around me, including my own existence – so still the atmosphere - so hypnotic the scene. This is probably the last beautiful view I will ever witness.

On Track To Nowhere
Memories flashed. A ball was bouncing on hot asphalt; just then the memory changed and a person was looking directly at her. Their face was beveled as if looking through a lens. The person reached out a finger and extended it to her face tapping on it. The memory changed again and there were children laughing and giggling. They couldn’t be seen, but at the same time they could; or maybe it was her who was there and not at the same time. The memory changed a final time. This time, there was an angry mob of people chasing someone… a terrified girl. She was cornered and fell to the ground facing the mob who slowly approached. She raised her hands to her petrified face and yelled “I’m not dangerous, I’m just different!” Someone lunged at her. She felt a vibration cover her body and heard a loud hum as everything went dark.

The Last Train to Mars
Just beyond the stratosphere, there’s a rattle. It’s not so severe that cups of Oolong tea spill and slosh onto Venetian tile floors. It’s not an earthquake quiver or the shimmy of sandy pellets in a feed processing plant. But it’s distinctive, almost irreverent, like a shudder when you awaken from a nightmare. Which is exactly what I’ve just done.

Seat A10 (Part 1)
The young man’s eyes shot open. He sucked in air like a vacuum after having just been unkinked. *Hfffffff* As he tried to get his bearings, the sensations of really existing returned to his body. His nervous system acknowledged the stiff plastic of the seat he found himself in, sending electrical signals up his spinal column to suggest it was rigid, but reasonably comfortable and supportive. His olfactory senses kicked in and he could smell the slightly musty, re-circulated air gushing down at him out of the vent above his face. He realized that while the air from the vent was providing a light breeze, the temperature in the train-car felt atypically warm. The air hitting his face now was hardly cooling him down. If anything, it was actually making him start to feel sweaty and uneasy.
