The Thing About Evolution
The thing about evolution is, it only works when it has to, and once people realized that, really realized it, that shut up the Creationists for once and for all because people realized that if slowly needing to alter one’s physiology meant slowly doing so, then quickly, etc etc, and so people began forcing themselves to quickly evolve by putting themselves into extreme danger.

Things had been moving fast. From the moment she had mistakenly grabbed his trolley and taken it to the checkout, and he had breathlessly chased after her, bringing up the rear with her trolly in tow to explain the mix-up, there had been an explosive attraction.

Of all the times of the year to break up, Valentine's Day was undoubtably the worst. Coming a close second, however, was right before Christmas. Tis the season when everyone is scrambling to finish their workload before the shut-down, all you wanted to do was curl up on the couch and mope over a tub of ice-cream, and you kept getting messages from family asking whether your new ex- would be joining you for the holiday. Didn't really put you in the mood of holiday cheer, peace, and goodwill toward men.

In the year 2157, the world stood at the precipice of a new era. The once-bustling cities now gleamed with a harmonious blend of nature and technology. The skyscrapers of old had transformed into verdant spires, seamlessly integrated with the lush landscapes that stretched for miles around. This was the culmination of a vision that had been conceived centuries ago, in the early 21st century, a time when humanity dared to reimagine the past's vision of the future.

I listened to her feet treading upstairs. She nudged the half open door as she walked in a haste. She intrigued me skillfully ,which in turn, made me probe her most perennially. Simply reinforcing this status quo, I followed her around with drift quickness. And so on and so forth, I got nicknamed as a “digger,” and she got celebrated well as a “tripper ,” most candidly for her brisk movements.

A Treasury of New Words and Terms for Burned-Out (Adult) Children
Greetings and Welcome, language lovers. Following the Neolomicro Challenge, I was left with a lot of bizarre definitions that I thought might give some of you a chuckle. These are the offcuts that I ran out of time / inclination to pursue. I hope you enjoy them, and that they can be the start of a glorious new dictionary for these beleaguered times.

"Do you promise to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you, God?" "I don't." The prosecutor picked up a notebook and approached the witness stand. "Turning to the events ..."

What Time is It? I wanted to come up with a word for the “Neolomicro Challenge” to describe the ridiculousness of the seasonal time change, but the only thing that keeps coming to mind is Super Annoying. Like this morning, I was up at four something AM because my brain is still thinking “five.”

Hierophantasm
Do you know where you are? The old woman croaked. Ren & I both held our breath, trembling. Had it worked? We'd been pulled in so many directions since last harvest, searching for the true motives behind the High Arcane's barbaric rituals. So many deaths and false promises. So many false leads and dead ends... We didn't dare believe it. Sensing our apprehension, the old woman nodded.
Reparaction Now!
"Seized? How?!" Pi's elf-like face was a mix of shock and grief. I wondered at their capacity for emotion, still so immense after all we'd seen. It filled me with... something. Pity? Envy? They ran a tattooed hand through their already tousled mop-top (the mischievous wisps of which were an electrifying periwinkle blue today) and stared at the boarded up building that had evolved from a part-time job into our second home: Dean's Video by day, Reparaction Now! by night. We thought we were changing the world. We must've been... If we hadn't, Dean's would probably still be here.
