When It Is Safe
Here is Real Poetic's newest challenge! *** February 2, 1809 I shiver under the big oak tree, the marker to divide the Master from the slaves. Snowflakes dot my curly black hair in quick succession; I will be drenched and near frozen by the time I get back home. Hopefully, Momma will not be home to interrogate me, forcing me to lie to her face again.

"THE TWISTED BARBEQUE PSYCHE'". Content Warning.
This is a fictional story. The characters are fictional. Any reference to any true character is coincidental. The question of time and space is to ask why are there people who bully others into a state inaction? Bullies are a type of personality that causes chaos at a friendly neighborhood barbeque. The gathering is congenial. People are laughing and talking. The bully walks up to the host yelling at her for burning the burgers when he had walked away from his responsibility of cooking the burgers.

Max’s slobber had both seemed to dry and solidify at the same time.

I came here with them on a vacation ten years ago, but unfortunately, I didn't leave with them. Left behind on one of the tea tables on the porch, I was found by one of the housekeepers hours after my child friend had left.

Morning is for Mourning
"I dunno. Maybe, " I choked down the tears in my eyes, "maybe it would be healthy to mourn it. "I was in that well for so long," I crane my neck to the sky, arching away from the fire I've built. I'm still in so much pain. Honestly I couldn't even believe how much pain I was in, being trapped there.

The Quarterback and the Artist
In the final seconds of the game, she found him. Her red lipstick against alabaster skin made a contrast against his black skin. Her mouth found his. The quarterback and the artist, entwined in an instant embrace would still stun some and shock others. Shutterbugs snapped photos that would blanket websites and physical magazines, further enshrining the moment through all ages.
