The Mobility Scooter and the Sea
The Mobility Scooter and the Sea By Ashley Michael Day Merryn Penrose drove her mobility scooter down the steep inclining road to Mullion Cove. A remote Victorian harbour off the rugged Cornish coast. A solid stone structure with a looming harbour wall nestled between two towering jagged cliffs. It was a wild spot. Filled with the sounds of crashing waves and shrieking gulls.

Outsider - Chapter 34
Knud had fallen asleep again. His cheek rested against the back of Jarl’s shoulder and his mouth was wide open, dribbling as usual. Jarl paused and shuffled to readjust his grip around Knud's legs. After two days trapped underground, Jarl had been desperate to walk in the fresh air, despite Knud’s complaints that it was too cold. They had been walking for what felt like hours now, and he was in no hurry to return to the tunnels. It was a relief to be able to look up and see the sky instead of rock, and better yet, no vârcolac. The only creature he had seen so far was one very startled rabbit.

The 9th planet
As I watched the mailman make his way towards my mailbox I started to fill with excitement. As I walked out of my apartment to get the mail that was just placed in my mailbox, my excitement turned to nervousness. I opened my mailbox, it's finally here. The letter I've been waiting on for almost a month now. Once I got back inside my apartment, I sat the letter on my table unable to open it. I just starred at the it, nervous to read the results. After what felt like hours, I finally opened the letter. "Dear Sahara Rose, we are excited to inform you that you have been selected as a winner of the science fiction writing contest! You, along with seven other people, have won the chance to explore the new planet!" Excitement once again flowed through me. I almost didn't even finish reading the letter before I started planning my trip.

Outsider: Chapter 33
“Well, if the plague hasn’t killed them already, they’ll die of fright for sure,” Halvard scoffed as he was passed a large mask that resembled the masks the embalmers had worn at the king’s funeral. It was shaped like a death moth, the ornamental wings hiding the stiff leather muzzle bellow that covered the wearers mouth with a thickly packed mesh of herbs.

The In-Between
The In-Between: Chapter 1 David wasn’t sleeping well. For the past week, he had been tossing and turning through the night, causing his girlfriend, Claire undo stress as well. He couldn’t pinpoint what the problem was. He had been on a diet for the past month and stopped eating two hours before bed. He stopped staying up watching TV when he started his diet since being well-rested helped in losing weight, or so they had told him at the doctor’s office and the nutritionist’s. It was true he was on the obese end of the Body Mass Index scale. He had sleep apnea causing him to stop breathing several times a minute for several seconds and he had to utilize a CPAP machine to help force air through his nostrils to keep breathing while asleep. But he had sleep apnea for years, nothing changed there. He didn’t smoke and drank on the occasional occasion. He couldn’t understand why he wasn’t sleeping well.

Natural Magic Ch. 25
Read Chapter 24 Here As Tilli had suspected, Matsias loved bowling, and the girls loved finally finding something they could beat him at. The experience brought them closer, but only for the time being. By Wintday, Mat had returned to skipping dinner with the girls to go to the movies with Antony and his friends. At least it wasn't another school night though. If Mat stayed up late, he wouldn't be trying to frantically study for a test at breakfast.

Natural Magic Ch. 24
Read Chapter 23 here As much as Tilli had wanted to go bowling over the weekend, Ayan's plan to work on their literature essays turned out to be a good one. Tilli had never been particularly good at writing formal papers. Miriam had little experience writing such papers, though caught on to the format easily, and Key struggled with reading and writing in general. No one was surprised that Mat had the same assignment for his Ethite literature class. Nor were they surprised when he was the first to finish. He did, however, surprise Tilli when he asked her to read it.
