Jelly
My fish ran away. I'm sure Jelly had an excellent reason to do so. Probably made a list of pros and cons, to stay or not to stay? And like everyone else, Jelly finally figured it out. Something I can't do on my own, with my own life, figure it out. I was drenched, standing in a puddle I had created, holding a fishless fish bowl in front of a shark tank. Ten million gallons of water, two white sharks, six sting rays, four sea turtles, and a large school of different fish, and, for once in my life, I understood they weren't the only ones aimlessly swimming in circles. I thought, what are they looking for, and do they know they are in a bowl? When a muffled voice came over the intercom, "The aquarium will be closing in one hour. The aquarium will be closing in one hour."

The Miracle Box
Today, like every day for the past year, Judy Trudeau had gone to visit her ten year old son, Timmy, in the hospital. He was in a coma, and she had been visiting almost every day to talk to him. She prayed and begged for him to wake up. He was hit with a baseball while at a game with his father, and even though she knew she shouldn’t blame John, she did. She grabbed Timmy’s hand and started talking.

A Night At The Aquarium
“What’s the point of this big ol’ aquarium if you ain’t got no fishes?” Sigmund asked as he swept a hand through his long, dark hair, brushing it back under his cap. He was an imposing man with dark features and rather broad-set shoulders, which had made him exceptionally good at what he did. He had been known as a thief, strongman, and a bruiser but Sigmund's favorite self-proclaimed title was muscle for hire. He wore simple clothes, a dark sweater, and darker pants.

A Trip to the Aquarium
“I wanna see the sharks!” “Yeah! Sharks!” A set of squealing voices accompanied by the squeak of sneakers on linoleum cut into the buzz of aquarium patrons. No one even glanced at the wandering quartet- two hopping, skipping boys trailed by two chatting moms. The lively group followed blue signage marking the way to the exhibit declared to be their next destination. The closer they got to Shark Alley the more times Leah had to remind Caleb to walk,

Where Mermaids Dwell
I like it, here in the dark. Down here, in the deepest part of the tank, I can pretend I'm far away. I can pretend I'm back home, where the lull of the waves speak to me, whisper secrets and stories. But I cannot hear the voice of the sea here, cased behind this wretched glass.

An Autumn Night
Linore bounded through the shadowed recesses of the aquarium, carving a path through the crowd. She stumbled to a stop and found herself standing in front of a large, curved tank. Her eyes trailed up its glistening surface, taking in the vast array of colors splashed throughout the sparkling blue water. In it was a massive live coral reef that stretched past the ceiling of the room. She tried to follow the structure to the top of the tank with her eyes, but they failed her and she could only see it towering above her before continuing in a blur into the distance.

The Girl Behind the Glass
I watched her every day for as long as I have been here. The essence of her beauty filled the aquarium. It memorized me how her long golden hair fell loosely over her shoulders. Nothing compared to how the sun glistened off the water to expose her bright blue eyes. I got lost in them all the time, keeping my distance to avoid appearing creepy. I knew every inch of her body. My eyes traced her silhouette as her form-fitting uniform revealed all her beautiful curves. I loved how her cute little nose and plump lips perfectly fit her face. Her hands looked so smooth and inviting as she cleaned the glass. I imagined what it would feel like to caress them, how I longed to hold her body close to mine. Daydreaming about her made the days pass easier. I discreetly followed her as she cleaned my windows throughout the tank, always amazed by her perfection. She was the only reason I showed myself.
