It was March 8, 2017, and the world of football was watching as Barcelona took on Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16. The first leg had ended in a 4-0 victory for PSG, leaving Barcelona with a mountain to climb if they were to progress to the next round. But, as they say, football is a funny old game, and anything can happen on the night.

The atmosphere inside the Camp Nou was electric as the players took to the field. Barcelona knew they had to score early and often to have any chance of overturning the deficit, and they started the game on the front foot. However, it was PSG who struck first, with Edinson Cavani scoring in the 62nd minute to make it 3-1 on aggregate and leave Barcelona needing three goals in the final half-hour.

As the clock ticked on, the Barcelona fans began to lose hope. It seemed as though their team's fate was sealed, and they would be crashing out of the Champions League in humiliating fashion. But then, in the 88th minute, something magical happened.

The ball was played out to Neymar on the left wing, and he began to work his magic. He beat one defender, then another, before crossing the ball into the box. It was met by the head of Luis Suarez, who flicked it on towards the back post. And there, waiting to pounce, was Sergi Roberto.

Roberto had started the game on the bench, but he had been brought on in the 76th minute as Barcelona searched for a way back into the tie. And now, with just minutes remaining, he found himself in the perfect position to make history.

As the ball came towards him, Roberto threw himself at it, sliding in with all his might. The ball ricocheted off his knee and into the back of the net, sparking wild celebrations inside the Camp Nou. Barcelona had scored two goals in two minutes to level the tie at 5-5 on aggregate, and they now had the momentum on their side.

But there was still one more twist to come. In the 95th minute, Neymar won a free-kick on the edge of the box. He stepped up to take it himself, curling a stunning effort into the top corner to complete Barcelona's incredible comeback and send them through to the quarter-finals.

It was one of the most dramatic nights in the history of the Champions League, and Sergi Roberto's goal will live long in the memory of Barcelona fans around the world. For Roberto himself, it was the highlight of his career to date, a moment he will never forget.

Born in Catalonia in 1992, Roberto had joined Barcelona's youth academy at the age of 14. He had worked his way up through the ranks, impressing coaches and teammates alike with his technical ability and work rate. By the time he made his first-team debut in 2010, he was already considered one of the most promising young players in Spain.

Over the years that followed, Roberto became a regular fixture in the Barcelona squad. He played in a variety of positions, from right-back to central midfield, and always gave his all for the team. But it was his performance in the second leg of the 2017 Champions League Round of 16 that would define his career.

After the game, Roberto was hailed as a hero by Barcelona fans and players alike. Lionel Messi, the team's talismanic forward, said that Roberto's goal was "one of the most important goals in Barcelona's history." Andres Iniesta, the club's veteran midfielder, added that Roberto's performance "showed what it means to be a Barcelona player."

For Roberto himself, the experience was almost surreal. "It was like a dream," he said in an interview after the game. "To score a goal like that, in a game like that, is something you never forget. It was the best moment of my career."

In the years that followed, Roberto continued to be an important player for Barcelona. He helped the team win numerous titles, including the La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Supercopa de España. And while he may not have scored another goal quite as memorable as his strike against PSG, he remained a vital part of the team, always willing to do whatever was asked of him.

Today, Sergi Roberto is still playing for Barcelona, and he remains a popular figure among fans. His goal against PSG in 2017 will go down in history as one of the greatest moments in the club's history, and it will always be remembered as a testament to the never-say-die spirit that defines Barcelona's style of play.
