Johnny is a police officer, and one day, he suddenly got a call at home - "Johnny, I'm Dex, and I'm at LAX, how are you?"

Johnny was stunned: Six years ago, he and Dex were best friends in arms, and they fought in Afghanistan and had a life-and-death friendship. Later, Dex was injured and transferred, and Johnny was discharged from the army and lost contact. After a few years, now he's a cop, and Dex is a robbery and murderer wanted by the FBI!

Dex continued, "I looked up your name in the phone book. I guess you have a successful career. Are you married?"

  "Yes, six months ago."

Dex said with a hearty smile: "Drive over and bring your wife. Let's have dinner and chat together, I'll be waiting for you at the airline building... I'm so happy to see you!"

Johnny hung up the phone with mixed feelings. Obviously, Dex didn't know that Johnny was a police officer, otherwise he wouldn't have asked him out, and Johnny had to cooperate with the FBI to catch criminals out of his police duties!

Johnny said to his wife, Mary, "Dex invited us to dinner. He may be in disguise, but I can recognize him no matter what, and I have to identify him before the FBI can catch him."

Johnny immediately called the FBI, and the two agents in charge of the case happened to be away. He called the director of investigation again and asked him to tell the agent that he and his wife were now rushing to the airline building and that he would notify the director of investigation if there were any changes.

Mary was disturbed, she knew that Johnny's pistol happened to be repaired, and Dex must be armed, and he would never be caught, it was too dangerous!

Johnny took off his police uniform, hung it in the closet, put on a sweatshirt and slacks, and reassured his wife: "It'll be alright, Dex doesn't know the FBI people, they'll be there without him noticing. Under the circumstances, they rushed over and grabbed him from both sides."

As soon as the two walked into the airline lounge, a man stood up from his leather chair. He was about thirty years old, with dark hair and about the same size as Johnny. He grabbed Johnny and called Johnny by his nickname affectionately. Obviously, he was Dex, and he was unsuspecting of everything!

Johnny glanced surreptitiously at the gate of the terminal, and the FBI agents hadn't come yet.

Dex said, "It's getting dark, let your wife cook us some home-cooked food. My plane doesn't take off until two in the morning."

Johnny knew that Dex was a wanted man and didn't want to stay in public for too long, but the agents hadn't come yet, so he was in a hurry, so he tried to delay as much as possible, saying that Mary wasn't going to cook tonight...

To tell the truth, Johnny felt very bad for Dex. Dex is not bad by nature. After returning from Afghanistan, he was in a bad situation, so he robbed banks many times, killed people and set fires. The FBI had already interviewed Johnny and concluded that Dex would one day contact his old comrade and ask him to assist in the arrest, but Johnny really didn't want the person who identified Dex to be himself.

Dex smiled and asked Mary if she would like to cook a meal for him. Mary understood Johnny's complicated mood, and such a delay would arouse Dex's suspicion, so she said: "Very willing. When I pass by the supermarket, I'll go in and buy some beer or something, so our dinner will be great."

Johnny on the side quickly understood that she was going to call the police, so he agreed.

On the way home, the car drove to the door of a supermarket. Mary got out of the car alone, ran to the phone booth at the back of the supermarket, and called the director of investigation, saying that they were going home for dinner at Dex's request, and said the address of your own home.

The chief said that as soon as the two agents arrived at the airport, he would contact them immediately, and would send plainclothes police officers to assist the agents. The chief said: "When you get home, they will surround your apartment. Don't worry, they won't rush into the apartment. When he comes out, we will attack."

Mary got back in the car, saw Johnny's inquiring look, and nodded to him very slightly.

When the three arrived at the apartment, Mary took their coats and hats, hung them in the closet by the bedroom, went into the kitchen, and began to prepare dinner.

In the living room, two men were laughing about their experiences in the war. Mary took Dex and didn't pay attention. She sneaked to the back window of The North Face and peered out through the corner of the curtain. She saw two people in the shadows, one of them. Holding a gun. They were already in place, surrounded on all sides, and Dex couldn't escape.

After dinner, it was already 10 o'clock, and there was no movement outside. Johnny was very anxious, but Mary didn't dare to make any hints. She could only keep smiling, making him feel that everything was under control.

Dex had a ticket at two in the morning, and the moment he was about to leave was when the police were about to act. Mary was very nervous. What she was most worried about was the plainclothes police who were watching their apartment. Johnny had not been working in the precinct for a long time, and he had little contact with plainclothes. The agents should know Johnny, but it is impossible for the two of them to be on all sides of the building at the same time. If the police who knew Johnny were not there when they went out, the plainclothes police might not be able to tell who Dex was and who was Johnny, which is very dangerous!

At this point, Dex stood up, walked into the aisle, opened the closet, felt in his jacket pocket for a while, pulled out a pack of cigarettes, grinned at them, then walked to the back window of The North Face, he opened the curtain Open a slit, look out, then go back to your seat, sit down, reach into your jacket and pull out your pistol, stare straight at Johnny, and ask low and cold, "You're a police officer, right?"

Johnny pretended to be surprised and asked him why he thought so.

Dex said quietly, "I found your police uniform in the closet when I was pulling a cigarette out of my jacket pocket just now. Also, I saw two people from the window of The North Face, one with a gun in his hand. You already knew that, didn't you?"

Johnny said yes, he knew it long ago, and he persuaded Dex to surrender because it was the wisest choice. Dex flatly refused, asking, "Where's your gun?" Johnny said his gun was left in the bureau for overhaul. Dex asked again: "So, did Mary call at the supermarket? What did the police say?"

Mary replied, "All they said was to surround the apartment."

Dex was silent for a while and said, "If I get caught, I'll be executed! Johnny, you have to find a way to get me out of here!"

  "That's impossible."

Dex looked embarrassed, he pondered for a while, and said, "I don't want your wife to get involved, but there's no other way, they didn't rush in because she was here, and they didn't want to accidentally Hurt her. I'm going to take her with me, and whoever dares to act rashly, I'll kill her first. I'm not kidding, Johnny."

"I know. But I don't think you can escape. Let me talk to the people outside, or send a message through the police station to have them call off the operation."

"But they still follow me, right?"

  "I think so."

"That's fine," Dex said. "You put me in a corner, but the funny thing is that I don't hate you... you'll help me, right?"

Johnny answered affirmatively: "Yes, for Mary."

Dex asked Johnny to peek quietly at The North Face to see if he knew the guy in the back building of The North Face. Johnny did, saying, "I don't know the two guys in the back building of The North Face, there may be FBI guys at the front door and on the side, I know them, and they know me."

When Dex heard this, he suddenly had a plan: since Johnny didn't know the people in the ambush in The North Face's back building, he could put on a police uniform, pretend to be Johnny, and take Mary out the back door. "If the people in the back building of The North Face don't know you, they won't know we both dropped our bags. I'd say Dex was about to go out the front door, and when they ran to inform the others, I slipped away with Mary, and then I'd intercept a car, let him drive me where I want to go, and I'll let the driver be honest."

Dex said it lightly, but Johnny was very worried about Mary, it was a matter of life and death! Dex said: "For Mary's sake, you have to hold them back!"

And just like that, Dex changed into his police uniform and walked out the door with Mary, Johnny standing motionless, waiting nervously.

A moment later, there were harsh reprimands and fights outside the door. Johnny ran across the kitchen, slammed open the back door, ran downstairs, and rushed outside. At this moment, the dazzling flashlight came directly, and there was a cry. "Don't move!" He stopped motionless...

In the dark, Mary came over, put her arms around Johnny's neck and cried. Meanwhile, Johnny saw that the plainclothes police had grabbed Dex, his hands handcuffed behind his back.

Dex squatted on the ground, raised his head, and said desperately: "I didn't expect you to risk Mary's life. You said you didn't know the two people guarding the back building, and I thought you were telling the truth. We walked up to The two guys here, and as soon as I started talking, they jumped at me... If they didn't know you, they wouldn't move so fast."

Johnny said, "I didn't lie to you, I expected this to happen from the beginning."

  Dex blinked and asked, "Why?"

Johnny stared at Dex for a long time, with a very complicated light in his eyes, pity, regret, sadness... He sighed long and said, "Because when a man in a police uniform walks out of the back When they came out, they knew right away that it wasn't me, because they knew that I wasn't going to change into uniform in front of a wanted man who didn't know I was a police officer!"
