Narrator: Outside, it was pitch black, starless, and dark as Indian ink. It had an ill-fated feeling, filling the air with loud crackling thunder as sharp jags of lightning streaked across the sky. The near-freezing rain fell hard as tasteless gumdrops. Lifeless trees had the skeletal appearance of being snatched from a Halloween night. It was this night - a start of a new quest—a quest towards a new beginning.

Man: It is a perfect night, chaotic. It brings pure madness to my bones! A sickening joy. Awww, look at what we have here.

Woman: Don't get too excited... you don't want to scare the poor thing, do you?

Man: Of course not. I mean...think about it. The young girl outside shall be a lovely addition to our legion.

Woman: Oh my! I'm going crazy just thinking about it; let's get her right now.

Man: Well, hello there…

***

Narrator: Two mysterious beings suddenly appear behind the girl with a slimy evil whisper.

Woman: Well, hello there, my lovely. What brings you out in such nasty weather?

Narrator: The girl shivers. She backs up and feels someone pressing in behind her; she quickly turns around, gasping.

Girl: H-hello? Wh- who are you? What are you?!

Woman: Don't worry your pretty little head about anything. We just came to check up on you. I mean, look at this horrible weather, and look at you - you're all drenched from head to toe. Why don't you come into our-

Girl: Cut the crap, Nefrit, and Johan!

Nefrit and Johan: Huh?

Girl: Do you honestly think that you can fool me? The one and only queen and ruler of Soil Et Luna. Hmph! I do say I'm pretty disappointed that you didn't notice earlier.

Narrator: Nefrit and Johan kneel.

Nefrit and Johan: Your majesty. I apologize for not noticing.

Girl: Your bag of tricks is not funny nor entertaining. Are you that lustful for human souls?

Johan and Nefrit: No, no, no, you have it all wrong; your highness, that's not it.

Narrator: Both Nefrit and Johan cast their frightened gaze towards the ground.

Queen: Then I assume it has something to do with the next protector of all land and time.

Nefrit and Johan: Yes, your highness.

Narrator: The queen scoffs at their attempt to divert her scorn.

Queen: You dare show yourself in front of me after continuous failures of killing those girls! What shame you bring upon me.

Nefrit: I'm sorry, your highness. We promise we'll definitely get Mina and Hana this time.

Johan: We'll get them alone with no trouble and-

Queen: Enough. I don't want to hear any more of your excuses. Come with me; we'll continue this conversation inside the manor.

Nefrit and Johan: Yes, your majesty.

————————Inside the Manor———————-

Narrator: Nefrit and Johan lead the queen of Soil Et Luna into their tall, dark smoky grey run-down manor, and they sit at a long glorious table with jet black chairs designed for royalty. The queen sits at the head of the table while Nefrit and Johan are beside her. Soil Et Luna's ruler describes the plan in grave detail on bringing the protectors to them.

Queen: Here's the plan. Johan, you show yourself to those girls. Scare them a bit and spike their interest, luring them into our hands and have them wanting to know more. Nefrit, you will paint this dream for them. Setting the stage, you have the skill and power to do so with that illusion magic of yours. Feed them a story that makes them believe it's theirs. We'll attack them. Attack them when they least expect it—got that?

Nefrit: Yes, your highness.

Johan: I shall follow your every word, your majesty.

Queen: And you do remember what we're looking for, don't you?

Johan: Yes, my queen. It's a heart-shaped locket. It was a necklace that was passed down through your lineage.

Nefrit: It's an item with a vast amount of power. Other nations and realms feared Soil Et Luna because of it. The heart-shaped locket was a part of our land for thousands and millions of years. But then suddenly it was stolen from us.

Johan: At this present moment, the locket is in the human realm. It appeared out of nowhere.

Queen: How it got into the human realm is no concern of mine at this moment. Just Don't fail this time. I must get that locket back! No matter the cost. The best course of action is to execute it in the human world; this is what we'll do.

________________Human Realm________________

Mina: Hmmmm.... what... what're you going to do——-Hmmm

Mom: Get up, Deez; time to go to school.

Mina: Hmmm, Mom, just a couple of minutes.

Mom: Now, I usually have a lot of patience with you, but today is not the day to mess with me, ok? Or your precious comics will disappear, and I'll tell your dad all about it. Ok, Mina?

Narrator: Mina's mom walks away as she quickly jets up out of bed.

Mina: There's no way, right?

Mom: GET THE-!

Mina: Ok! Ok! I'm GETTING READY!!

Narrator: As Mina jumps out of bed and sprints straight to the bathroom, she brushes her teeth, washes her face, showers, and puts on her everyday uniform of a navy-blue polo shirt and sandy-colored pants. Once Mina is done, she styles her hair into a lovely subtle bob haircut. Before going out, Mina grabs her watch, puts on her earrings, and grabs her beautiful, mysterious royal blue heart-shaped locket with a gold rhinestone in the middle of the heart. Next, she holds her shoes and slips them on. Mina now starts to run downstairs.

Mina: Ok, mom, I'm all done. Wait! I have to fix my breakfast first!

Narrator: Mina runs upstairs in a hurried fashion. As she opened her jewelry box, she grabbed a part of her heart-shaped locket.

Mom: Is that necessary?

Mina: Yes, it is; and mom, you should know this by now; I am an athlete and eating three times a da-

Mom: I get it. Get your lunch, breakfast, and head to school already. If you need anything, call me; I'll be at work and love you.

Mina: Bye, love you too.

____________School_______________

Narrator: Mina walks up to the school and hears endless chatter.

Hana: Mina! Mina!

Mina: Huh?

Narrator: A girl surprises Mina with a hug.

Mina: Hana!? Hey, girl, how's it going?

Hana: Pretty good, but did you hear? Did you see what happened on Amy's Instagram? She's so funny. I have to show it to you later today. For now, let's see what all the commotion is about. Come on, let's go.

__________School Court Yard_________

Hana: Wha, what the heck? Why is this happening?!

Narrator: Students are screaming and panicking. They have no idea what to do. Everyone is all over the place. Students are on their phones, putting the horrible event on the internet. Others have what seems like a mental breakdown; Mina is mesmerized by the horrific scene before her. Paralyzed by what she sees, she still cannot help but notice a vile woman next to the boy on the roof. To Mina, it looked like she was trying to create something out of nothing. For a split second, their eyes locked, but before Mina could blink, she vanished into thin air.

Mina: What the!?

Hana: Mina! Mina! Snap out of it already!

Mina: What!?

Hana: Are you ok? You fazed out on me for a minute.

Mina: I saw someone on the roof.

Hana: Saw someone? What?! On the roof? When? Right now? Mina, what are you saying? There was never anyone there. I only see a boy who is thinking about jumping off the roof.

Mina: But I saw someone on the rooftop; it wasn't just that boy. She has dark purple shoulder-length hair swept to one side, elegant makeup, and a diamond-encased necklace with earrings. A beautiful long sleeve vanilla cream blouse tucked in black shorts with white stockings and short black boots.

Hana: If someone was that detailed to their look. Don't you think I would have seen her as well? Maybe you are just stressed. Let's change the subject for now.

Mina: But- .

Hana: What seems strange to me is that there are no teachers or police here. We need to get some help somehow.

***

Narrator: As Mina and Hana make their way through the crowd, an unexpected stranger stops them. He greets them with a wide menacing grin.

Johan: Marvelous work for a beginner!

Mina and Hana: Who are you? What are you talking about?

Johan: The boy that was about to jump from the school rooftop. Don't you see it? You saved him.

Mina: What do you mean saved him? He's still on the school rooftop.

Johan: On the rooftop? Look again.

Narrator: Hana and Mina look towards the roof and gasp. They noticed no one was there, just the flag fluttering in the wind. Students walk around, as usual, chatting away, laughing, and going about their business like nothing ever happened. The boy who was on the verge of jumping is vibrantly alive, clowning around with his friends—chasing girls all over the courtyard.

Mina: What the hell just happened? How did you do that?

Johan: Me?! No! You!

Mina: What do you mean?

Johan: Well, look at that beautiful necklace.

Mina: My necklace?

Narrator: Mina looks down at her royal blue heart-shaped necklace with a gold rhinestone in the middle of it.

Johan: Our time together is nearing an end.

Mina: Wait! But there so many questions that I need answers to.

Johan: If that's what you want, then you must promise me something.

Narrator: Suddenly, Hana intervenes.

Hana: Wait a minute, Mina, I don't trust this guy. I think it'll be best if we just leave.

Johan: Are you sure that's a wise decision. I mean, your friend there didn't even believe you when you said you saw someone else other than the boy on the roof.

Hana: Mina, you know I'm just worried about you! Come on, let's get away from this guy.

Narrator: As Hana tries to pull Mina away. Johan holds out his hand.

Johan: The choice is yours, Mina. Once you grab ahold of my hand, all your questions shall be answered.

Narrator: Hana pleads with Mina not to take his hand. Mina ignores Hana and grabs John's hand. Unexpectedly Mina faints as Hana continues to call Mina's name. Before losing consciousness, Mina sees Johan mouth to her, "you shall be a slave to our legion forever."

Narrator: Mina awakes from her dream and dazes down at her royal blue heart-shaped necklace. Unable to speak and move, Mina is bound to her hospital bed and is left with only her thoughts.

Mina: What happened to me? Where am I? Is this a hospital room? How long have I been asleep? Why can't I speak?

————————Inside the Manor———————-

Narrator: As the Queen of Soil Et Luna sits at the head of the table, she smirks to herself pleasingly. With Johan and Nefrit are beside her.

Queen: What utter fools. I can't believe how easy it was to fool that human girl. She took a deal and shook your hand without any questions whatsoever. Humans are such dumb creatures. Once you spike their interest, you have the right in the palm of your hand. Mina should have listened to Hana. If she did, Mina wouldn't be brain dead in the hospital right now. But of course, Mina herself doesn't know that.

Nefrit: That is the consequences for making a deal with us.

Johan: We can use Hana as a spy for other nations and realms.

Nefrit: It'll be easy to use her. We have her friend Mina after all. As long as we make up some sap story involving saving her friend. Hana will do precisely what we tell her to do.

Queen: To Mina and Hana this is all but an endless bad dream.
