The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. An uncannily ordinary cabin, with no remarkable features, but one that could be found anywhere.

Legend says: There is a cabin, atop a cliff known as the orphan eater. Late at night, if you dare approach too closely, if you have no family you will never return. If you have a family, the yellow-eyed demon will petrify you, making you watch your friend vanish. Should you fight back, a grievous wound would make sure you never forgot that demons are all powerful. By morning, the cabin with the eerie blue light, and the yellow-eyed demon would leave no traces behind.

The cabin has no prejudice, from child to elder, orphans will never return. If you have never known a parent's face, then be wary of the cabin on the cliff.

Deep in the woods, at the end of the path, atop the cliff in Maine, there was a cabin used as a landmark. Unspoken rules? You don't approach the cabin, surrounded by overgrown shrubs and a worn fence. The cabin was never occupied. No one knew or asked who owned it, the cabin was always lifeless.

One day the empty windows caked with dust shone brightly over the water. Just one window acting as a beacon, glared a blinding blue light. A blue candle-like flame amplified by the murkiness like a will-o-wisp, brought chills to the hearts of all who saw it.

Rumor has it, that very night a test of courage was underway: jump off the cliff behind the cabin, bring back a flag from underneath and the successful would be crowned new members to a secret college party.

Of the three who set out to participate, only one boy returned. He was disoriented, the flag was tied around his neck, with no memories of ever making it into the woods.

The girl who went to find them saw yellow eyes piercing through the night, her flashlight died, only the piercing eyes lit the night. Like a cat from hell, a guttural growl filled the air like thunder and the eyes vanished into the cabin, the blue light vanished with them.

The cabin that steals away orphans, deep in the woods of Australia the legend from Maine reached their ears on the lips of a traveler. How strange, that even in Australia there is an identical cabin, standing on a cliff known as a dive spot. Past the nests of tunneling spiders there is a cabin that was abandoned before anyone could recall.

One night, a blue flame was seen from the lake below, and two teenage cousins ventured up. Never to come back, their friend mourns them each day. She watched as they approached the light, as if possessed. Their hands linked tightly, as she tried to cry out to them, eerie demonic yellow eyes appeared.

As they walked towards the cabin, a guttural growl tore through the air. Spiders scattered from their webs as if afraid, as the piercing yellow eyes danced through the air. Too afraid to even scream now, the girl watched as the eyes swallowed her friends. The blue flame grew blinding and they were gone.

Not even a speck of blood was left, two disappeared never to be seen again.

Perhaps the scariest, in the middle of the day, a cabin atop a hill preserved as a landmark in England. Untouched by humans, gated from the public. A light appeared, bright enough to contrast the sunlight in the afternoon.

A young teen with a stuffed panda was drawn toward the light. Crowds tried to stop him from climbing the fence. Yet floating eyes appeared among the foliage, no hands were able to pull the boy back. Cowering back, the onlookers recoiled as a beastly growl froze them to their spots, they could only watch in fear and pity the one boy who could move.

Once over the fence the boy walked to the cabin. Before he went inside the light got brighter, a large black creature with yellow eyes approached the boy, and the light swallowed them both.

Beware the cabin with the blue candle. Should you ignore this warning, you shall never return. Especially, because the same cabin is never seen twice. At least not in the same place. The next morning, the cabin deep in the woods, upon the cliff, upon the hill or even just past the trail in the forest, will be gone. As if it never existed, no traces of the children, the cabin or the demonic yellow-eyed creature. Merely a group of playful cats rolling innocently around the land as if sensing something interesting.

Deep within the forest, there stands a cabin shrouded by mystery. It’s true home lay in the woods of Salem, ashes of the cabin still litter the woods. Yet, the cabin appears when it is called. Collecting orphans with a yellow-eyed spirit, if you see the cabin on the hill…. Prepare to greet the yellow-eyed demon or be swallowed by the blue lit cabin.
