One day a little girl was on her way to the corner store when she saw something twinkling in the sunlight. She knew that she was told not to cross the street but, she couldn't help herself. When she got the courage to cross over, she bent down and picked up a heart-shaped locket. It had many beautiful jewels inside it, but she placed them in her pocket and continued to get her items from the store for her stepmother.

The little girl was going through a hard time dealing with self-esteem issues, sexual abuse, and mental abuse. So in her little world finding, this heart-shaped locket was a good thing. For everything that was going on immoral in her life, this locket was the one good thing that she could hold on to. Everywhere she went, the locket went with her until she noticed that it was gone one day.

The little girl was so afraid, and all of the bad things she was going through seemed to worsen. She realized that things were starting to change for the better when she had the locket around her, but she noticed that it was gone, wholly hell broke-lose around her. She trashed her whole room, looking for it but no luck.

A few weeks have passed, and the little girl gave up on finding the heart-shaped lock because she just knew that nothing good ever stays with her until one day she found the heart-shaped locket again, but this time when she found it she noticed that the jewels were much bigger than they were when she first found it. She did realize that it would be much harder to hide from others because of its growth. What she didn't know was that this heart-shaped locket had special powers and these powers were for her and her alone, but she didn't know it yet. All she knew was that it was hers and she was going to keep it.

The little girl didn't know that this heart-shaped locket was about to change her life for the better. She noticed that every time she held it close to her when she was scared, frightened, or about to be attacked by her abuser, the locket would start pouring into her positive vibes. At first, she thought that she might be losing her mind. Then she realized that every time the abuser would try to come at her, the abuser would instantly be paralyzed. It was as if the heart-shaped locket was fighting for and with her. She felt so powerful that she just let the heart-shaped locket do what it did best, even though she didn't know what it was doing or even why it was doing it for her. She just excepted it and kept it close to her.

As she got older now, being a woman that the heart-shaped locket will always be with her even though she no longer has the item in her hands now. This heart-shaped locket found its way to this little girl because its mission was to help her fight back, and once that task was complete, it had to move on to the next little boy or girl.

For this little girl, the heart-shaped locket did more for her than she ever thought possible. The heart-shaped locket broke down a lot of the suffering and injustice done to this little girl. The abuser set the stage for her ongoing fears, not being heard, swallowed up, and left for dead. The little girl thought that the abuser would never be punished for his crimes, but with the heart-shaped locket still on this earth, she knows now that he has gotten his punishment.

Now the little girl keeps a vivid memory of the heart-shaped locket, and even though she doesn't have the item physically in her hands, the memory of it is just as powerful. She is living a beautiful life and enjoying every minute of it.
