In Shanghai's busy streets, Mingen, a 28-year-old electronics store clerk, found himself in the middle of a bank heist. Led by the cold-blooded Yusheng, the robbers took control, their guns pointed menacingly at the bank staff.

Mingen, whose appearance bizarrely matched that of the gang's missing driver, was mistaken for a cohort. Yusheng, recognizing the familiar face, ordered him to prepare the getaway vehicle. Confusion and fear gripped Ming, but his attention was drawn to a familiar face. The bank teller being threatened at gunpoint was Qingli, his ex-girlfriend from college.

Driven by a surge of protectiveness, Mingen tried to approach Qingli but was harshly rebuffed by Yusheng. Outside, the police were readying their assault. Recognizing Mingen, Qingli hurriedly filled the robbers' bags, hoping to end the ordeal faster.

A gunshot echoed, a bank manager lay dead for resisting, escalating the tension. The police stormed in, a hail of bullets felling most robbers. An injured robber, clutching the cash, escaped in the chaos, inadvertently injuring Mingen.

Qingli vouched for Mingen's innocence during the investigation, and the fleeing robber was later found dead, the stolen cash unclaimed. Days later, Ming and Qingli disappeared, the money mysteriously gone with them.
