Rose screeched out in warning at her brother Leviathan. She seen the impending danger before them. The panther known as Kilo was stalking toward her brother. The jungle food was scarce around this time of year. The cool air coming from the east was clashing with the warmth of the jungle creating an eerie fog. Kilo was smart he was one of the best hunters out of all the predators in the jungle. He loved the thrill of the hunt especially of those who were considered rare. Rose was a blue and scarlet color with kind yellow feathers colliding into her blue backside. Her brother Leviathan was more orange and blue that was so dark it sometimes looked black in the right lighting. Her brother and her were known for their beautiful coloring. They were warned to stay away from the darker territories where most predators lurked waiting on the foolish to pass by.

Rose watched kilo creep along the heavy fog causing it to swirl mystically with each subtle movement. She called again to her brother as Kilo got closer. Her cry was of desperation, but Leviathan was known for teasing the predators. There had been to many close calls in the past years, but those weren't with Kilo. Leviathan had coaxed her to come with him, and no matter how much she begged him not to come here he refused to listen. Kilo crouched low ready for the deadly strike he was about preform. He watched Leviathan dance from tree to tree taunting him. Rose could see the annoyance and devastating anger growing on Kilo's face. His crawls sprang out as he launched his body toward Leviathan. Rose called out in pure terror, her heart was racing. Leviathan flew to a higher branch causing Kilo to miss his longest tail feather. Kilo fell to the ground slipping on the wet jungle ground. He squawked out a taunting laugh. Kilo's face turned to pure rage. He growled and jumped at Leviathan again, missing each time as Leviathan move from branch to branch. Laughing and taunting Kilo all the way. Kilo was panting after a short while and laid down feigning that he was exhausted. Leviathan called out to Rose as he landed next to her, she knew he was up to no good. He cried out for him just to head home with her instead but he refused.

He gave a mischievous tweet and flew down to the rock about two feet above where Kilo lay, gaining his strength from the game he had just played and lost. Kilo looked at him in longing hunger as he licked his chops imagining how good the macaw would taste be on his tongue. Leviathan got closer and closer to the tired cat, teasing him. Rose called out to her brother to stop messing with him so they could head home. Leviathan turned his back to Kilo to mock his sister. This would be his worst mistake as Kilo took advantage of the distracted bird and grabbed him up in his paws. That was the end of Leviathan and a lesson he never recovered from.

The great elder Macaw finished the story of warning to his flock of young Macaws. He told this story many times to each generation to help preserve his dying kind. Mistakes like the ones Leviathan made would resonate with the other young macaws and keep them from venturing out of the safety net he and the others had created for them.
