Is It A Yes?

It was Valentine’s Day, Matt asked Babs to marry her on their date. He was on his knees with the most gorgeous diamond ring in his hands. He was looking up to Babs with such lovey dovey eyes.

Babs was completely surprised. Her mouth was wide open. She was staring at Matt with completely devastation. They only just met a month ago. He want to marry me? This was very quick.

Matt has been very nice and a very generous boyfriend. She did not feel, she was ready to get married,yet. Looking at Matt’s face full of hope. She did not want to let him down or embarrassed him. There were a lot of onlookers.

The people in the restaurant stop what they were doing. It was completely silence in the restaurant. The piano player stop playing waiting for her answer.

Everyone thought it was very romantic for a man to asked a woman to marry him on Valentine’s Day. They did not know it felt to soon for the lady in question.

“I will love you and cherish you, Babs, for the rest of my life. You are my sunshine. I cannot live without you. I will do whatever you want. Please, would you be my bride,” Matt declare while on his knees.

Babs, shut her mouth and both her hands on her heart. She like Matt a lot but she was not sure if she love him enough to commit to marrying him. A month is not enough to know someone. They only had gone on three dates.

Babs, had to give him an answer. She still want to get to know him. She want more time. She thought, Matt was very thoughtful. He always open his car door for her. He gave his coat to her when he thinks she is cold on their walk in the park date.

“Asked me in December,” was her answer.
