Chapter 3

The Return of The Owl

It was a dark and foggy night. The rain falls on the ground gently and quietly meeting with the ocean. The stars were shining brighter than most nights. Near the edge of the ocean where the big rocks stand firm and strong, a woman with fins emerges out of the water. She carries her child on her arms as she sings her a lullaby. The child wears a broken necklace with 3 letters engraved on it. P.E.A. She is wearing a white soft cloth covering her body as she cries desperately, begging for her mother who dives in and out of the water anxiously, because of the sea humans. They're hunting to kill the innocent child! It is said that a God of air felt in love with Goddess Pisces, Queen Amphitrite, of the Pisces tribe who then became pregnant with this child.

Pisceans were people that the Gods took as slaves into the sea to hide forever. The Gods formed them into human creatures, taking their voice and giving them fin to breath under water, making them a target of torture and hunted by many. For many years these creatures have been terrified, they hide for protection in the deepest part of the sea. But now, these sea humans are petrified at the news that a human child was born with two legs! and can breathe under water without fins!... They strongly believe that this child would bring wars between the humans and all tribes in the water. They know that humans will find them.

Amphitrite, worried and out of options thinks that leaving her child in the human world far from sea creatures would be safer for everyone.

Imagine that, leaving your baby in a strange world defenseless and alone. That mother felt empty and hopeless, but she loved her child and wanted her safe. She notices from the distance a human running towards the child that lays on the sand. The human immediately covers her and keeps her safe and warm.

Amphitrite, feeling heartbroken yet relieved, swam away towards the hunters under water while crying and humming her way into a deep sleep-in unconsciousness.

Must have been so terrifying for that poor little girl, as she cries in the arms of a stranger. She looks into the ocean for her mother who disappears without a trace. All alone in a world completely different than what she has been used to all her life.

With-out a voice to speak, this child had to learn sign language to communicate. Her name was PEA just as her necklace. She was special, intuitive, and she carried a power that no one has known before. People would often become intimidated by her.

PEA grows up with the Gallagher's, Philip Gallagher and his wife, Martha Gallagher. They have been trying to conceive a child of their own for quite a long time already but unfortunately, it was becoming more difficult each day. Therefore, they decided to adopt Pea and two other girls, Maddie and Sophie. Pea loves this place, and she was grateful for such an amazing family. Even though she was a very anxious child, and often very angry the Galligers were very much in love with her, they loved everything about her. quite often she would ask to be taken to the sea where she was found as a little girl, she would contemplate the ocean and dance with the wind. this was the way she felt closer to a world that she never imagined she was a part of. She often dreamed that she was stuck on a clear cube in the middle of nothing, and she that she would struggle to get out of it. She would always wake up scared yet kept this to herself and didn't mention it to anyone. One night, she dreams that she was in a forest and there, in the middle of nothing, a door made of light calls her attention, she carefully walks thru it and like magic she opens her eyes and finds herself in the most beautiful place. It's beautiful there, its magical! everything around was full of grass and trees. The cool breeze combs her hair softly as she smiles and walks slowly mesmerized, but suddenly, she hears a voice echoing...

“Find me. Find me"

Pea looks back and see that everything behind her was disappearing into smoke. She runs through the green grass as fast as she could, but as she is runs away from the smoke, she notices a barn Owl sitting on the biggest tree of the forest. She continues to run as quickly as she could and suddenly wakes up on her bed out of breath, sweating, as if she came out of a steaming sauna and sat there for 30 minutes. Her heart was beating so fast she thought it would jump out of her chest because of the shock. She looks down and notices grass on her feet and Leaves falling of her hair. "This dream felt so real" she thought but just as always, she kept this to herself in silence for years dreaming the same type of dreams and waking up the same way. But it was on her 13th birthday that everything changed.

(The doorbell rings)

“I got it!” Mr. Gallagher says as he gets up to go open the front door. Maddie and Pea are both enjoying a conversation, while Sophie and Martha play around with their vegetables. Philip opens the door and looks down to see a package on the doorsteps. The box was addressed to “Pea” no last name just “P.E.A”. He takes the package upstairs to the girls' room and places it on their study table. After dinner, the girls run to their bedroom to get ready for bed. Pea was the last one to come in the room and finds her sisters staring at the box on the table in front of them. Pea notices her name on it and hurries to get some scissors to cut it open.

"Wow it's beautiful!" Sophie says as Pea pulls out a small clear crystal box just like the one from her dreams. “What is this?” she thought to herself, “'I’ve seen this box before. I’ve seen it in my dreams.” She continues to look into the box when suddenly, it starts to shake and glow! Pea looks at both Sophie and Maddie who backed away in complete shock

"This isn't a dream; they see it too.” Pea thought as she backs back from the shinning box too. The box instantly stopped shaking, and the light started to dim. There's a crack on it! Maddie exclaimed.

P walks slowly towards the crack while Maddie and Sophie walked behind her slowly. they notice that something was inside.

Pea, feeling curious touches the crack on it as it immediately opens into 4 pieces! FIRE AIR EARTH AND WATER. Inside, laid a golden chain with a clear heart shaped locket.

“It’s beautiful.” she thought, as she places the necklace carefully on her palms and shows her sisters. Pea turns around and Maddie helps her put the necklace on feeling surprised at what she had seen. Once she finished, P turns around and walks to the bathroom to look in the mirror to her surprise she noticed into the mirror there was the magical door made of light that she saw in her dreams!

“Girls, it's time for bed,” Martha says from a far, the girls quickly clear everything out of the study table as they hear her footsteps getting closer Mrs. Gallagher opens the bedroom door and Pea runs quickly out of the bathroom. "Oh, that’s a beautiful necklace honey, I see where all of your allowances are going.” Martha smiles as she kisses Pea on her forehead. “What’s this? A meeting without me?” Mr. Gallagher says coming in the room smiling as always. They make sure the girls brush their teeth and lay on their beds as they kiss them goodnight and both, Martha and him walk out turning off the lights.

Hours later, when everyone was asleep, Pea lays awake on her bed feeling as if she’s going crazy perhaps. Wearing her long white sleeping gown, she slowly gets up in hope to see the door made of light again. Just then, as she walks in the bathroom, she notices the barn owl that she had seen before, sting on the sink and staring at the mirror. The necklace started glowing beautifully and gently in the dark. Pea turned on her nightlight, walks up to the mirror, and to her surprise there it was! The door made of light.

Pea feels frightened and looks to see if Maddie and Sophie had woken up Meanwhile the Owl flies thru the glass into the forest, and just as P looks back to the mirror Her body is transported into the forest! like magic. Pea opens her eyes and sees everything clearly now. She can now touch the grass and enjoy its softness and coolness. She can now walk through the grassy gates touching every trunk of the trees. The breeze was so refined and sweet. She followed the pathway mesmerized by the beauty around her. Butterflies and birds, singing and flying all around her just like a fairy tale story. Suddenly, she hears footsteps and carefully turns around and see a man standing about 20 feet away from her.

"It is you, isn't it?

The man says bowing down to her. He wears a red cape with pride and his hair is thickly braided and long. He was tall and strong.

"I came for you, my queen; your people need you. We have been in great hunger and distress, we have had no guidance for years, waiting on your return.” He continues, walking closer and closer his face looks confused as he notices that Pea is only but a child.

Pea slowly backs away.

“No, I’m not your queen. I’m only 13!" She exclaimed nervously. She is completely surprised that she can speak. She places her hands on her throat and gasps "I can speak she whispers silently in complete shock. She begins to run away from the man frighten as fast as she could but falls back in the clear box struggling to get out. She feels cold and scared as she hears the footsteps of the men running fast towards her, She screams and wakes up in the arms of Mr. Gallagher who is concerned that she had another seizure again

"Honey, you had another seizure, and your sisters woke us up.” Philip signs language, as Martha hugs Pea dearly. Maddie and Sofie sat up on their beds very sleepy and tired, they rubbed their eyes and yawn covering their face from the bedroom lights. “What is this?” Martha says looking at Pea walking to the bathroom desperately trying to show them the door in the mirror " Green leaves? 🍃 seeping from her gown? “Could she have be sleep walking?" Martha whispered to her husband as they follow her puzzled yet concerned. Pea takes a deep breath feeling despaired. She grabs her dad's wrist and looks at the time on his watch. “It's 3am, can I go back to sleep now?” Maddie says.

BOOM!

Everyone jumps up, frightened at the sound of the girls' bedroom door that falls on the ground in pieces. Mr. Gallagher yells to his wife Martha to call the police and tells the girls to remain calm as they hug each other in a corner. The man with the red cape comes in.

“Who?... what? What are you doing in my house?!” Philip shouts very angry and disturbed. The man stands still, tall, and strong while Mr. Gallagher charges up to him in outrage. “I’ve come for her.” the man says pointing towards the girls. Mr. Gallagher began to argue at the man while Martha talks to the police in the background. The men completely ignore them as he walks straight towards Pea.

"Come with me my queen." the man says reaching out for her hands. "It's time" he continues. Pea looks around surprised that everyone can actually see him too, she felt the room spinning very slowly. "The man in my dreams"! she thought to herself. She was enchanted as if she was under a spell, she reaches out for his hand just as he reached out for hers, and at the touch of their fingers, they vanished and all that was heard was the echoing sounding of Sophi's dreadful; "NO!" and everyone in the room could not believe what they had witnessed. Just like magic, the men in the red cape took Pea and now she's gone.

Chapter 2

The Cube With-inn

Pea lays on a wet concreate as the rain falls hard on her face. She uses her arms and hands to cover her face. As she gets up, she notices that Everything around her was empty seemed like an abandoned city perhaps. It was raining and it was dark. this world was empty and windy. Pea stand up and looks into the distance, "where am i she thought, she
