After Xia Qi became king, there was a tribe, the You (pronounced hù) clan, who disobeyed and rebelled. Qi and the tribe of You had a war and finally, Qi destroyed the tribe of You and punished the captives as herding slaves. When the other tribes saw how the You clan looked, no one resisted anymore.

After the death of Xia Qi, his son Taikang reigned. Taikang was a very lethargic ruler. He did not care about politics, but loved hunting. Once, Taikang took his attendants to the south bank of Luo Shui to go hunting. The more he hunted, the more he got excited, and he did not return home after 100 days.

At that time, there was a tribal leader named Hou Yi (yì) of the Yi tribe in the lower reaches of the Yellow River who was very ambitious and wanted to take over the power of the Xia king. When he saw Taikang out hunting, he thought it was an opportunity and led his troops to guard the northern bank of the Luo River. When Taikang came back happily with a large number of hunted beasts, he came to the Luo River, but the opposite bank was full of Hou Yi's army, blocking his way back. Taikang had no choice but to live in exile on the south side of the Luo River. Hou Yi did not dare to make himself king, but made his brother Zhong Kang the king of Xia so that he could hold the real power in his own hands.

Hou Yi was a famous archer, and his archery was a hundred percent successful. There is a myth that in ancient times there were ten suns in the sky, and the ground was so hot that it was scorched, bringing serious disasters to the crops. Everyone asked Hou Yi to think of ideas, Hou Yi flicked his bow and arrow, "whoosh" a few times, the sky shot down nine suns, leaving only one sun. Thus, the climate on the ground is suitable, no longer drought. It is also said that in ancient times, there were many monsters in the big river, often making waves, causing floods, drowning the seedlings, and people and animals drowned, also Hou Yi used arrows to shoot these monsters all dead, and people's life was restored to normal. These myths show that Hou Yi's archery skills were very skillful and recognized by everyone.

Hou Yi started as an assistant to Zhong Kang. When Zhongkang died, he simply ousted his son, Xiang, and took over the throne of the Xia Dynasty. With his skill in archery, he also became a powerful and powerful man. Like Taikang, he went out hunting and left the affairs of state to his close friend Han Milestone. Han Milestone hid the truth from Hou Yi and bought people's hearts. Once, when Hou Yi returned from hunting, Han Milestone sent his men to kill him.

After killing Hou Yi and seizing the throne, Han Milestone was afraid that the Xia tribe would fight him again and made sure to kill Xiang, who had been ousted by Hou Yi.When he fled, he was chased by Han Milestone. Later, Xiang was finally killed by Sustainability. At that time, Sang's wife was pregnant and was forced to crawl out of the wall by Han Milestone, so she fled to her mother's family, the Youyi tribe, and gave birth to a son named Shaokang.

When Shaokang grew up, he took care of the livestock for his grandmother's family; later, when he heard that Han Milestone was sending people after him, he fled to the Youyu clan, the descendants of Shun.

The shaking grew up in a difficult environment and developed his skills. He recruited men and horses from the You Yu clan and began to have his team. Later, he received help from the ministers and tribes loyal to the Xia Dynasty and attacked Han Milestone, finally taking back the throne.

The Xia dynasty recovered from Taikang to Shaokang after about one hundred years of chaos in between. It is called "Shaokang Zhongxing" in history.

Shaking destroyed Han Milestone, but the struggle between the Yi people and the Xia dynasty was not over yet. The Yi people had many famous archers who were very good with their bows and arrows. Later, Shaokang's son, Di Loom (pronounced shù), came to the throne and invented a protective garment called "armor" to avoid arrows, and defeated the Yi.
