Perry Bordeaux is staring across the street at the Le Carne antique store. He is nervous but jittery as he walks across the busy street to enter the store. When he walk in he looks around and finds not a customer or store associate in sight as he begins to look around. On his way to the front desk Perry makes a mental note of all the ancient looking pieces of art on the walls and stands that fill the store. When he gets to the front counter he suddenly hears a creek behind him and quickly looks back towards the entrance and finds nothing there but the possessions of the store. When Perry turns around he is startled by a man dressed in an all black garment staring at him with a facial expression that was half serious and half a smile.

“Evening wayward traveler” the man begins. “Uh hi” Perry rebuttaled as he collected himself. “I uh…I’ve come for the…” “I know what you’ve come for” the merchant interrupted. The merchant then reached into his pocket and pulled out a small puzzle box. “This musical puzzle box you see before you is called the Lament Configuration, traveler.” “What does it do?” Perry asked. “I think you have an idea of what it does” the merchant replied. “This box is the doorway to another world, one beyond the surface of the real. It is a world of forbidden pleasure.”

“Are you interested in making that journey, mr. Bordeaux?” “Yes I am.” Perry responded with a slight smile. “There is one more thing you must know beforehand, once you open the box and explore its pleasures, there will be no going back. Are you willing to pay such a price?” Perry laid a stack of money on the countertop and extended his hand for the merchant who then handed him the Lament Configuration. “Use it wisely my friend and have a safe journey.” Perry took the box and left out of the store in a rush to make it home.

Perry is now at home sitting at the kitchen table in his apartment with a small puzzle box known as the Lament Configuration sitting on the table top in front of him. He contemplates opening it because he seeks pleasure beyond the life he knows. “Am I really gonna do this?” He asks himself out loud. “The merchant said there is no going back after it’s been opened, going back from what exactly? I guess there’s only one way to find out. Perry picked up the box to inspect it. While looking at it he found a small button on the side. He then pressed the button to which it then opened itself up with bolts of lightening around its edges.

The walls surround Perry’s table then began to quake and open up. Perry rose from the table with amazement. He looked around curiously, but did not see anything or anyone. Suddenly in the pit of his stomach Perry felt a tingling sensation that spreaded to his chest and eventually to his limbs. The feeling something that his mind could only contemplate as orgasmic. The sensation grew stronger and intensified. As he reached the peak of his point of pleasure, chains suddenly erected from every corner of the room and tore into Perry’s limbs. Perry squealed in agony, yet he could still feel pleasure.

As Perry stood chained in agony and pleasure a being dressed in what looked like sharp leather with needles coming out of its head appeared in front of Perry. “Are you willing to pay the price now, Perry?” The being asked. Perry looked on with his face in silent agony from the chains piercing his flesh. “Welcome to hell.” the being uttered in a low tone. With the pleasure virtually gone the chains inside of Perry’s flesh separated themselves and ripped Perry to pieces.

Perry opened his eyes in what felt like hours later and found himself laying his head down on his kitchen table. He raised his head and looked around but he did not see the Lament Configuration or the pinheaded being. “Wow, that was a crazy dream.” Perry said aloud. He rose from the kitchen table and went to open the front door. When Perry opened the door he was met by the pinheaded creature and stood in fear realizing what he thought was a dream was reality. Chains emanating from every corner once again engulfed his body with agony and separated themselves, splitting him into peices.

Perry then opened his eyes and found himself with his head down on his kitchen table. He once again rose to his feet and went to his front door in panic. When Perry opened the door he expected to find the Pinhead creature, but instead found the lament Configuration sitting at his doorstep. His heart dropped in fear. When he looked back he found the walls opening around him and realized where he was. He was in his own purgatory of Hell and he now understood what the merchant meant. The seconds of suffering he caused himself were now going to last forever.
