Heading Towards Bankruptcy
Causing sleepless nights
Paul tossed and turned but couldn’t find comfort in sleep. Not with his mind spinning a hundred and eighty degrees.
He had so many questions, although he was still in a state of shocked disbelief.
How could his business be heading towards bankruptcy? Twenty years of hard work may have been for nothing.
Why?
He rolled onto his back, giving up on the very idea of sleep.
Anthony was his friend and his soon to be unemployed accountant. Sadly, he has betrayed Paul by skimming the books.
This is the worst financial sleight of hand seen by the forensic auditors.
This drabble has been written as part of the daily Drabble Drop challenge and today's random word, that must be included in the drabble, is 'sleight'.
Wikipedia defines a drabble as follows :
A drabble is a short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words in length. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in a confined space.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.

Oh wow, I didn't even know what sleight meant until now. Learned a new word from you my friend. Loved your drabble!
Anthony's been embezzling from Paul's business? Dang, Anthony's been screwing people over, especially during tax season.
I feel Paul's stress. I remember those nights when my husband panicked because he could no longer work. You've put a lot of thought and honest perspectives into this short piece of writing.
