Halloween Kills Review

New Halloween Movie

This movie is an important bridge to the next one. I will point that out perfectly here. Like all trilogies, parts 1 and 3 mirror each other and part 2 always seems to be more of a wild card. Michael destroying a whole team of firemen/rolling through all of the victims of Michael Myers definitely showed how hardcore he is. Flashbacks were the best part despite all the brutal slayings. Really felt like they just wanted to show the insane kills as the title says lol.

Dialogue was weak sometimes and that stupid catchphrase of "evil dies tonight" was like something out of power rangers movie. The couple in the myers home was the comic relief, and it was stupid and didn't belong. The kills are brutal and awesome.

I completely was happy the flashback scenes being incredibly authentic so funny looking. It honestly felt as if it could have been original 1978 footage, and that gave me chills. As for the silly mob mentality, I really really could have done without the rants from the sheep people. The strange mob had a purpose, so I looked beyond the campy nature of it all. Overall, I had a great time in Haddonfield, and look forward to the final chapter.

I was getting so very tired of hearing them say all the time "He dies tonight" "Evil dies tonight". Literally said it like 100 times and made me so vex at times, wanted it too stop half way through, just driving me nuts.

The wonderful wonderful 1978 flashback scenes captured the unique vibe of the first two Halloween movies really, really, well in my opinion. I’ve kinda always wanted a movie that continues after Halloween II, and pretends that 4-8 didn’t exist. Film it in that old school style and drop all the philosophical storylines and that a movie I’ll pay to watch.

The whole flashback scenes were genuinely incredible and to the point I was literally amazed by them. Personally, I think they’re the best part of the movie. Other than that the entire hospital chase scene was so so horrible and the ending felt so extremely rushed. It almost felt like a parody sometimes seeing characters do stupid stupid things.

But all in all, the flashback scenes were the best thing about the movie, you couldn't fault it. It literally made the Halloween Kills movie sound and very interesting to watch. This flashback concept made this movie, without it, might of been a struggle somewhat.

I am extremely happy with this revival trilogy so far. I feel like Halloween Kills had the most classic feel but also went into uncharted waters with the comedy/character progression. I absolutely loved 2018 as a movie and kills goes the opposite direction, using the pure evil and stigma of the legendary Michael Myers to create an horror atmosphere that just keeps you on edge and tender hooks, you never really have faith that someone is gonna get Michael once and for all. His brute force in this movie and the disregard for life he had was unlike any other installment. Basically, Michael wasn't messing around. I feel like this trilogy is gonna be looked back on as having something for everyone. A deeper meaning (2018), straight up kills (kills, lol) and a perfect mix to put a bow on it (ends). I prefer the 2018 style but loved both and couldn't be more excited for Halloween Kills it's still scary like the others and gives you goosebumps right to the nines.

Just make sure you check underneath your bed, and in the closet when after watching this horror movie which ticks all the boxes.
