Christian and Sonya are exiting the diner, and they are walking towards his car. Christian opens the door for Sonya and lets her in before closing the door. As Christian walks to the driver's side door, Sonya opens the door for him. Christian smiles with gratitude as he gets in the car.

Sonya- Christian, thank you so much for doing this. You know you didn't have to pay the whole bill.

Christian- You got it last time. Why can't I do it?

Sonya- (smiles) So? Why can't I pay for you?

Christian- We really gonna argue over this again?

Sonya- (laughs) What? Awe, are you mad? You mad, Christian?

Christian sits stoically. Sonya playfully stares at him.

Christian- What are you looking at?

Sonya- (playful) A very grumpy man.

Christian- I'm not grumpy.

Sonya- Are, too.

Christian- Am not.

Sonya- Are, too!

Christian- I am not.

Sonya- (playfully pokes Christian in the shoulder) Are, too! Are, too! Are, too!

Christian gives Sonya a very smug look. Sonya playfully grabs Christian's face, and she tries to turn his frown into a smile. Christian can barely resist Sonya's tactics. He tries his hardest not to smile.

Sonya- Come on, you know you want to.

Christian finally lets out a chuckle, and he lowers his head.

Sonya- (excited) There it is! There's the smile!

Christian- What am I going to do with you?

Christian stares at Sonya, and she gazes into his eyes. Christian and Sonya start leaning closer towards one another. As their faces are about to meet, their eyes close.

[Car horn blaring loudly and repeatedly]

Sonya groans loudly, and she and Christian look forward. Bright lights beam through their windshield. They shield their eyes.

Sonya- What the hell?!

Loud hooting and hollering comes from a vehicle directly in front of Christian's car.

[Car horn blaring again]

A young, blonde-haired man with an athletic build exits his car with two other young men. All of them are wearing white and green Letterman jackets. The blonde one, Brad Clayton Jr., walks up to Sonya's side of the car, and he knocks on the window.

Sonya, now annoyed, rolls her window down. Brad smirks at her, leaning against the car. His eyes are locked into hers.

Sonya- (annoyed) What do you want, Brad?

Brad- So, you're going to go on a date with a junior from another school instead of me? I can't say I'm surprised.

Sonya- Fuck off.

Brad- (scoffs) Oh... (to his friends) Guys, I told you she still likes me.

Laughter comes from his friends.

Christian- I believe she said "fuck off," Brad.

Brad- Hey, why don't you shut that pie hole of yours, you loser?

Christian- Why don't you come here and make me?

Brad- Step out of the car, you punk ass bitch!

Christian is about to get out of the car, and Sonya stops him.

Sonya- Christian, please don't. (to Brad) Please stop this!

Brad- (mocking Christian) Sonya doesn't want you, little boy. She wants a real man like me.

Sonya- Brad, go away!!

Brad- (still mocking Christian) Just because you're a Carter doesn't mean you get to try and steal other guys' girlfriends.

Sonya- Brad, I am not your girlfriend! I never was, and I will never be your girlfriend! I will never go anywhere with you, ever!

Christian- Dude, this is pathetic. You're really embarrassing yourself. I'm outta here.

Christian starts his car. Brad slowly backs away from the car, and Christian pulls his car out of the parking space.

Brad- This isn't over, Carter! Sonya is mine!

Sonya rolls her window up. Christian pulls the car out of the parking lot. Brad stands there and watches as Christian drives away with Sonya. He smiles arrogantly.

Brad- This isn't over. She'll be mine. You'll see.

Brad walks away.
