Being a Young Dad
Hello. If you're reading this then you're either going to become a dad or already are one. So let me tell you about me and how I do it.

As I’m getting set up for a living room work out, I ask my daughter, “Hey, you want to work out with Daddy?” She looks up, and as she jams a cheeto into her mouth, says, “As soon as I’m done filling up my muscles.”
Marriage on the Brain
As a mother of a seven year old, you would think that the normal dinner conversation would be about video games and toys. Nope, not my seven year old. My son Mikyle is smart for his age and very advanced, he was surrounded by a lot of adults as a toddler. His sarcastic charm made his personality. Now I’m going to take you back to when it all started. One day leaving the staff nursery, we said goodbye to a little girl and her mom. The little girl moved in to give Mikyle a kiss, but he didn’t realize and he slightly moved and she mistakenly kisses him on the lips. Shocked and embarrassed Mikyle, started to freak out and shouts, “Oh no I kissed Hannah on the lips now I have to ask her dad for her hand in marriage and I have to get a job I can’t go to pre-K.” I told him it’s ok it was a accident and he’s not in trouble and that it doesn’t mean he has to marry her. He says, “If you kiss someone on the lips you have to marry them." The parents and I joked about it before I took my embarrassed Mikyle home. That’s when things started to get serious for him about marriage and love.

It is no question that we live in a technological age. Now, I do believe that being active is very important. I also believe that teaching our kids to be active is important.

We have arrived at the time of year again, when the ghouls and creatures emerge from the shadows and shopping carts of busy parents. The cool autumn air sets in the spooky decorations are hung and candy is bought in bulk. Children eagerly await the chance to dress up as their favorite monster, character, or idol before going door to door asking for treats from their neighbors. The modern day Halloween celebrations have become a tradition over the past decade. Starting in America during the early 1900s, it has become a national holiday that children and adults both look forward to each year. Families spend the day making memories and traditions of their own every year. From the children dressing up to celebrate at school to the infamous candy hauls that they return with after trick or treating every family has their own unique ways of celebrating that make the holiday special each year. My family was no exception, though, we enjoyed the holiday with a little extra twist that not every family was able to do.
Toddler Diaries
I should probably start by saying that this is a blog about babies. For those of you who feel queasy at the sight of the millions of photos of other people's children on social media sites, now is probably the time to locate the small ‘x’ in the corner of this page. However, if, like me, you find this world of sleepless nights, gripe water, pampers, and breast pads rather fascinating: please, read on.

"Why are you doing that?" "Nope. Put it back." "This is mine, not yours.” “Give it back, please. Thank you.” This is the conversation that I have had with my children since the dawn of time (Well, at least for the past 12 years). I have had to discuss, debate, argue, and reason with the children that I had decided to conceive — for subjects that I never thought would be an issue. Believe me, it can be an ISSUE.

Motherhood is something that I've always wanted to do and it's great!! I had my little one at 18 and don't regret it at all but then again who would.

Since having my fourth child, I have had some very interesting reactions. In the honeymoon stage of friendship with a fellow mom, you start to exchange information about your kids. Sometimes it's an outright "how many children do you have?" and other times you can literally watch them try and calculate in their heads as you give little tidbits of info. I have boys and girls–well, my older two are girls and then there are the boys, etc. So far, I have met a fellow mom of four only once. She was pleasantly surprised to have found a fellow "unicorn" mom. But I have to say that, overwhelmingly, the response is "WOW", "You have your hands FULL", "You must be SUPERMOM!".

One of the most important things to me as a parent is raising critical thinkers. I want them to say the layers beneath and the reasons why things are the way they are. It isn't just a rainbow to us, it is sunlight refracting from the moisture in the air.

My job, my goal, is to raise my two daughters to be strong women, empower them, instill independence, morals, values, and never back down. To teach them to be passionate and go after what they want in life too. They can achieve anything they set their mind to. My husband has the same duties to them as me, but I feel it's a bit different being the mom to two girls than the dad. Seth is much more traditional than me, which can be a conflict in a society that is not usually traditional. Our daughters are Alina, age seven, and Catarina, age three.
An Open Letter to My Friends & Fam
I'm going to sincerely regret not getting the minimum 4 hrs of sleep, but as they say in Recon, "We train to standard; not to time!"
