Fertility foods are the kind of foods that contains esse,ntial nutrients that will support the proper functioning of the reproductive system and organs. But being concerned about fertility foods alone will not guarantee an easy process of getting pregnant, since fertility can be affected by many other things other than food.

The overall determinant of ideal fertility is your lifestyle which includes a balanced and healthy diet, regular exercise, avoiding smoking and drinking alcohol, weight control and the management of stress. Adopting a healthy lifestyle will put your physical condition in good shape and ready to support a pregnancy.

Here is a short list of somfoodstuffff that can boost fertility:

Whole grains

Whole grains are complex carbohydrates that are not easily metabolized and transformed to glucose, thus will avoid overweight. Excessive glucose without adequate physical activities will cause the transformation of glucose to fat which will be deposited in fat cells causing obesity.

Whole grains like whole wheat, brown rice, oats, and quinoa are excellent foodstuffs to boost fertility. Their slow metabolism guarantees an evenly supply of energy around the clock. They also contain a lot of vitamin B and vitamin E which are known as effective fertility boosters which contribute to hormonal balance, cell reproduction, and the formation of healthy egg cells and sperm.

Fish oil

Fish like mackerel, salmon, and sardines are excellent sources of omega-3 and omega-6 which are essential fatty acids (EFAs) needed in the regulation and functioning of the reproductive system, enhancing blood flow and increasing mobility and quality of the sperm. A good substitute for fish oil in case you don't like it is flaxseed oil

Dairy products

Studies have shown that women consuming a minimum of a portion of one full-cream dairy per day will significantly possess a lower probability to suffer from infertility than those women who consistently consume low-fat or non-dairy products. Dairy products are recognized to be good sources of calcium which is essential in nerve, bones, and blood system development and maintenance.

Garlic

Garlic (Allium sativum) contains a lot of fertility-improving nutrients. It is an excellent source of selenium that is considered to boost men fertility and help to avoid the breaking of chromosomes that occurs in early miscarriage. Garlic also contains Pyridoxin (Vit. B6) which assists in hormone regulation and improves immunity.

Lean red meat

Lean red meat contains iron (Ferrum) which helps in the prevention of anemia, lowers the probability of ovulatory infertility, and is useful in red blood cell production and functioning. This kind of meat is also a great source of vitamin B12 which is essential to maintain and developing the nervous system.

Honey

The benefit of honey has been recognized since long ago back in ancient times. Honey is very rich in minerals and amino acids that are essential nourishment for the reproductive system and the stimulation of ovarian function. Honey is generally considered an activity super-booster.

Spinach

Spinach and other green leaves are great sources of folic acid. This nutrient is essential to optimize the production of sperm, support regular and healthy egg production, ad support the prevention of neural tube defects (spina bifida) during the early stage of pregnancy. Spinach also contains iron and vitamin C which are essential to enhance sperm quality

Avocado

Avocado contains a lot of vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant and an important fertility enhancer not only for women but men as well. It can improve sperm viability and supports the regulation of ovulation as well as the production of cervical mucus. Avocado is also a primary source of mono-unsaturated fats which are required for the proper functioning of hormones.
