Take It or Break It?
I wondered if I had anything to do with the divorce. I suspected she fancied me even though I was 21 and she was 43. The notions, if they were present, she never acted upon, at least not with me, maybe alone with her pleasure wand while the family slept. Either way there was something there that couldn't keep her kept. I didn't think I was the cause of the split, just maybe her attraction to me exposed their flaws, and made her quit.

Cultivating Joy on Adult Snow Days
I lingered awake last night having a text conversation with my friend as we waited excitedly for the snow we had been following for over a week. We were both raised in North Carolina so the fascination with snow is a holdover from nights spent with flashlights waiting for the glimpse of the snowflakes that often meant days out of school. Although we are both decades beyond childhood snow days, we continue to share an excitement over snow that most of my friends have lost.

Bringing Joy to Christmas
As a therapist I have known supported many people that over extend themselves in order to buy gifts for their family and find that the next Christmas they are still paying for the gifts from last Christmas. There is nothing like watching people stress out over this circular path from Christmas to Christmas to bring home the fact that there must be a better solution.

Never Mind the Name, What About DNA?
It’s a fact that children are born into either a single family or two parent home. Unfortunately, some children, born to single parents, never get a chance to meet their noncustodial parent because he or she decides parenthood is not a responsibility worth taking. This is a common situation experienced by children of different races and ethnicities, not just one specific race. Under the circumstances, this is sad and disappointing since it can prevent siblings from meeting each other and establishing a connection.

11 Retro Toys That You Can Still Buy
Remember when we were kids? Toys did not come with apps, require you to buy a console, or become obsolete every few months. We built, we designed, we played, and we used our imaginations. Although modern toys are interesting, I think there is something to be said for the things we played with back in the day. Luckily, many of these things have remained available, or have made a comeback, so that we can watch our own children play with them today.

Living Without Her...
Once upon a time, my life used to be perfect. I used to smile, I used to love, I was fearless, and unstoppable, Life made sense...I believe that life was perfect, I was the richest girl in the world because I had my best friend next to me always. My reason to smile and want more in life. But then on November 3rd, 2016, my life stopped... I don't remember much from that day. All I remember is that on that day my best friend, my baby girl, my daughter, didn't sleep in my arms that night. A year and a month since that unexpected goodbye.
