Traveling with children is certainly not an easy task, from the flight to the total stay at the destination. Extra luggage and weight, strollers, baby bottles, diapers, and an inconsolable and often unpredictable junior passenger who depends solely on you.

And, as if all this were not enough, you have to face the angry looks of those around you.

And rightly so, they do not seem at all happy with the prospect of spending 4 hours of flight or three nights in the four-star hotel they paid for, with the melodic cry of your little one.

So what do you do? Do you sit at home, close the shutters and silently endure your pain until the child graduates from university? Are you limited to short excursions?

Or do you get on a plane and completely indifferent to everyone and everything — “what if the child bursts into tears and/or is mentally injured forever?” What if the passengers secretly conspire in the toilet to … open the windows and make it look like an accident? That’s how the children are, let them do it too and we’ll see! ”

And yet, there is a solution. And it is none of the above!

1. Provide

Creating a family does not translate in any way to the end of the holidays. But it is definitely necessary to adapt to the circumstances. That is if your baby is two years old, then maybe it is better to stop wandering in Mongolia and the Gobi Desert for this year — maybe another time.

When you are looking for your next destination and you have to think of others besides yourself and your company, then these questions should be kept in mind:

Does it have facilities and activities for children or is it purely an “adult” destination? (risk of boredom)

Is it a relatively safe destination? (risk of physical integrity)

Is there a pharmacy, doctor and / or hospital nearby? (risk net)

Will he have other families with children there? (optional — you may have no appetite to hang out with other happy families)

..can I avoid them? (similarly)

Is there a psychiatrist nearby? (no comment)

You understand what we mean. For everything, there is the right place, way, and time. And it is up to you to find them in time, to have a smooth and pleasant family trip!

2. Snacks: Your best friend

Always have — ALWAYS! — snacks with you, whether you are traveling by plane, train or car, even if it is a short trip.

There is nothing worse than having to pay for a property in the train canteen, the airline stewardess, or the hotel minibar. Or, even worse, to stay hungry, you and your three (whining) children!

3. Wear smart: Pack smart

All the tips for luggage and hand luggage, here come to be applied with even greater emphasis, for a more comfortable trip.

Here it is very important to have proper information about the regulations followed by the airline with which you fly. Make sure you are informed in time about the allowed limit of hand luggage that accompanies a children’s or baby ticket and make the most of it!

If your child needs a stroller, most airlines will include it in the ticket price — of course you never know, so look and ask. Simply, for your own comfort, make sure you choose a small split stroller.

4. Positions, positions, positions

We know that, no matter how cheap airline tickets you find, traveling by plane for a family is often not a negligible expense. But believe us, when we tell you that the choice of place is worth the money and even more so when you travel with a child!

Babies

The regulations of the airlines dictate that infants up to two years old are not assigned a place other than your … feet. If we are talking about a short trip, then maybe you can make the flight “bloodless”. But if you have a lot of anxiety or the trip will take longer, it may be worth buying an extra seat for your baby.

Note: Do not forget to take the special travel seat with you!

Children over 2 years old

The ticket for children who have completed the 2nd year of age also includes a seat assignment. But what position? Will it be a window or a corridor? Will he be next to you or will the random assignment send your child two rows ahead of you? Maybe it’s better to think about pre-purchasing the pair of seats you want, to have the freedom of movement — and keep your head calm!

5. This second change of clothes

Detail, but extremely important: Always make sure to have a second change of clothes with you in your luggage! In case of an emergency … leak or an unpredictable “rocket”, it will be a lifesaver!

6. Check-in; Think about it again!

Although most airlines allow the donation of a stroller on a plane, they are unlikely to provide any assistance in getting to the plane without it.

What do we mean? If you deliver the stroller along with the rest of your luggage, guess who should be wandering around until the flight carrying luggage, bags, purses, and a baby in your arms!

So? Keep the stroller with you up to the ladder of the plane. There you can deliver it and from the same point, you will receive it upon your arrival, as soon as you disembark from the plane!

7. Look at technology with a different eye

Yes, for sure, you can often spend the time and the moment when television was invented, you can not bear to see your shoots spend their time in front of the “junk box”, instead of playing carefree in the garden.

Well, for as long as the trip and the vacation lasts, forget it all!

As you will see, technology in such cases is divine! Your cell phone? A tablet? A laptop? A portable gaming machine? Anything that can keep your child busy — and silent — on the plane, on the train, in the restaurant, and wherever the danger of whining lurks, is not just welcome, but necessary!

And make your child like this …

So equip yourself, do not forget the headphones and you will be grateful for the technology and those around you!

..so!

8. Reward

Do you consider securing a nap for the child as one of the greatest personal achievements of your life?

Grit your teeth, close your eyes, and hold your head up. The world did not spoil if the program that you follow with reverence spoils for a few days! Holidays mean carefree. And, while this does not mean that everything is allowed, it is definitely a shame to miss out on valuable and fun holiday experiences with your children who are not coming back, just to follow a sterile schedule.

Be realistic: Have fun!

9. Send it!

You went on vacation, had a good time, and got 10,000 souvenirs, souvenirs, bracelets, magnets, cards, toys, and gadgets to remind you. Now how do we go back?

No matter how fearless you think you are, no matter how much confidence you have in your strengths, do not bother to try to do it alone. If his trip was going to be a big test of fatigue and nerves, the return with whining, depression, fatigue, and a lot of overweight luggage, is a feat!

Do good and send whatever is extra by mail, shipping or any other way will guarantee that your things will reach the same destination as you, without you!

10. Take care of yourself!

Okay, we got it, you have kids, you love them, you adore them and you go crazy spending quality time together. But do you forget something? How many leftovers of fruit cream as a main meal can you endure?

The key to happy children is happy parents. So do not neglect yourself! Try to (re) remember the things you like, the activities that make you and your partner happy, even if it means you have to leave your children for a few hours.

It is good to remember that family well-being is based on delicate balances and peace of mind plays a very important role in maintaining them.

A meal, a relaxing afternoon of spa and treatment, a drink at the beach bar, whatever it is you need, take care of your children, and just do it! So, we all, authentically and truly, take vacations!

Enjoy life to the fullest, you and the whole family! The season of family vacations, with children small and various tricks to torment everyday life is wonderful, precious, and never goes back. So do not deprive her!

Because in the end, it is very beautiful to discover the world with your child!
