Over the past couple of decades, the number of disabled veterans has increased significantly. They are often faced with unique needs and challenges, and the DAV ensures they receive the benefits they need. In addition to being able to connect these individuals with the proper resources, the organization also works to advocate for the community through its activism.

The DAV is a non-profit organization that serves the needs of those who have served our country. Through its services, the organization has helped over a million veterans.

How They Assist Disabled Veterans

-The DAV is able to provide these individuals with the necessary support and resources for a lifetime. This is why the organization continues to do so much for the community.

-In 2021, the DAV was able to provide over 163,000 rides to help disabled veterans get the medical care they need.

-The DAV has assisted over 150,000 disabled veterans with disability claims, and this has resulted in the organization helping the veterans receive over $25 billion in benefits.

-The DAV also works to support the community by connecting veterans with employment opportunities.

-Individuals who are members of the DAV can receive various benefits, such as discounts and moving assistance.

–The DAV works to pass legislation that would help improve the quality of life for disabled veterans.

The DAV also aims to help disabled veterans re-enter the civilian world and establish a bridge between military and civilian communities. These benefits are free of charge and are available to everyone.

The DAV has over 1,200 chapters in the U.S. and over a million members, making it easy for people to find events that support the cause. From conventions and 5Ks to speeches, the organization has plenty of ways for people to get involved. The public can also learn more about the organization through various forms of media, such as videos, documents, and podcasts.

With almost two decades of industry experience, Terry Cornell Jr. has established himself as a respected leader in his field, consistently surpassing expectations. Throughout his career, he has held various notable positions that showcase his capabilities and dedication. Since 2001, Terry has served as a Lobbyist with the Government Liaison Services, adeptly representing both companies and individuals in local, state, and federal courts. Additionally, he assumed the role of Hearing Officer for the State of Illinois, where he played a crucial role in determining the eligibility of petitioners to regain their driving privileges following instances of driving under the influence. Excelling in this capacity, Terry was then offered the position of Chief Government Interaction Officer at Peoples' Home Equity, a role he gladly accepted. In this position, he closely collaborated with the government affairs, business development, and loan origination teams to facilitate prospective homebuyers in obtaining mortgages. In 2018, when the company changed its name to Parkside Lending, LLC, Terry continued his exceptional work as Chief Government Interaction Officer, where he remains an integral part of the team today.
