A woman in her forties stood in front of the hospital entrance, surrounded by her six children. She clutched files, papers, X-rays, and lab results, gazing at them in stunned silence. The world seemed to be breaking with pain. What had happened? The doctors had confirmed she had cancer. Did this mean she was going to die? She looked around but couldn't find her husband, the one who should have been her support. She gathered her children and went home. She waited for him, but he didn't return. Day after day, she lived in anxiety, fearing the unknown. After a whole month, he called her. "You are divorced. I owe you nothing," he said, and left. What she had feared had come to pass: he showed no reaction, no sympathy, when the doctors told her the truth about her illness.
Instead, he left her. A stab wound pierced her heart. She hadn't expected such cruelty from him.
At least he should have been kind to his children, but he was gone.
She sat all night thinking. One man was gone, but fate had given her another, one of her own flesh and blood. She whispered to him to sit with her, away from his brothers. A conversation began, a discussion: What should we do? We have rights, and he has rights that she has established. Heaven
Rights established by earthly laws
But how?
Here, it was agreed that the eldest son would play the role of the investigator, gathering information.
He began by asking questions while sitting in a café.
Multiple answers came.
Some said the only way was through the courts.
Others suggested appealing for help on social media.
But she refused to publicly shame the father of her children.
What was the solution? The son went to court, the venue for family cases.
He went to the Bar Association.
There, he met his most senior mentor.
His response was, "My son, don't resort to the courts, as the process is lengthy. Go to the embassy, as they consider the case to be damaging to the country's reputation, and the children are citizens of their country abroad." Finally, she knew the right path.
She gathered her papers and documents.
She went to the embassy and submitted a petition regarding the children, considering them citizens of their country.
Then, she submitted a separate request, stating that she had been his wife for nearly 20 years.
The ambassador learned of her request.
He comforted her in her illness and decided to provide urgent aid to the family. He promised to resolve the matter as soon as possible.
She continued to follow up daily until the day she had been waiting for finally arrived. At the embassy's invitation, she went to find him, but her emotions froze. It was as if she were asking, "Do I deserve this? Is this how you repay my kindness?" She didn't utter a word, nor did she even look at him. Here came the final chapter. The ambassador allocated a large sum of money specifically for his wife and suggested that it be deposited in a trust fund for her treatment. He also contacted a doctor to follow up with her. A large trust fund was also established for the children, sufficient to cover their school fees and living expenses, ensuring he wouldn't abandon them under any circumstances. All of this was done under pressure from close friends who had been summoned by the ambassador. She emerged victorious over injustice, but the illness continued to plague her. She went to the hospital, where a doctor appeared, filling her spirit with hope and urging her to be patient, as the treatment journey would be long. She smiled and hoped for a swift recovery so she could be happy again among her children, reminiscing about the old days when she held and pampered them. He told her... The doctor may go through multiple stages depending on the results of the tests and scans after each treatment phase. She said, "Even if I am not cured, it is enough that I succeeded in protecting my children."
