WHAT IS CONFIDENCE

Confidence is the feeling that you are sure about your own abilities, opinion, etc. Confidence is a psychological and emotional state characterized by a belief in one's abilities, qualities, and judgments. It is a sense of self-assurance and belief in one's own worth and capabilities. When someone is confident, they have faith in their ability to succeed and trust in their decisions and actions.

Confidence is not necessarily related to being perfect or always knowing the right answer. It is about having a belief in oneself despite imperfections or uncertainties. It involves acknowledging one's strengths and weaknesses while maintaining a positive outlook and a willingness to learn and grow.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

It's a process. It grows with time and exposure. In my teens, I used to believe it is something that is inborn ( I was that dumb ). I have even questioned my birth for being so dumb without confidence. I was a highly demotivated kid. Parents' comparison with other kids also made me feel bad and effectively made me still anxious about myself. Felt helpless. Most often felt like the situations around me are drowning me.

Confidence is all about clarity of the known, readily learning spirit for the known unknown, open-mindedness with unknown knowns, and Boldly accepting the truth of our unknown - unknown.

with these attributes any time in your life you can be confident.

SIGNS OF CONFIDENCE

Let's also see some signs of confidence we see in other people. According to me its more internal which reflects external.

  • Great posture - Because they are relaxed and they are ready to accept the unexpected.
  • Assertive - Strong communication skills. They are comfortable handling difficult situations due to the strong value system they have within themselves. They are not aggressive but empathetic. Knows to see situations with various dimensions.
  • They are comfortable taking risks - They don't shy away from failing new experiences. They are willing to step outside of their comfort zone in order to grow and learn.
  • Optimists - They see and bring out the best in any situation. They see the glass as half full. They understand in the world anything and everything has two coins. So, they focus on the positives.
  • Self-belief and positive mindset: Confidence is rooted in a strong belief in oneself and one's abilities. Confident individuals have a positive mindset and focus on their strengths rather than dwelling on their weaknesses.
  • Acceptance of compliments and criticism: Confident individuals are gracious when receiving compliments and genuinely appreciate recognition for their achievements. They also handle constructive criticism with maturity, using it as an opportunity to learn and improve.
  • Willingness to take on challenges: People who are confident often seek out new challenges and opportunities for growth. They are not afraid to step out of their comfort zone and take calculated risks to achieve their goals.
  • Resilience: Confidence is closely tied to resilience. Confident individuals are better equipped to handle setbacks and failures. They see challenges as opportunities for growth rather than insurmountable obstacles.
  • Decisiveness: Confident individuals are able to make decisions and take action without excessive hesitation or self-doubt. They trust their judgment and are willing to take calculated risks when necessary.
  • Active listening: Confident people engage in active listening when interacting with others. They pay attention, ask thoughtful questions, and provide meaningful responses. They are not afraid to contribute to discussions and share their perspectives.
  • TAKEAWAY VIEWS

Of course, no one is perfectly confident all the time. But if you see these signs in yourself or in others, it's a good indication that you're dealing with a confident person.

It’s important to remember that everyone experiences confidence differently. Some people may be more outgoing and assertive, while others may be more reserved and quiet. There is no one right way to be confident. What matters most is that you feel good about yourself and your abilities.
