7 Important Questions for College Roommates
College acceptance letters should be littering social media posts in the next couple of months which means there will be an abundance of incoming college freshman rushing to join FaceBook housing groups. Social media is a great way to meet potential roommates, especially for students who do not want to room with someone from their hometown. In the excitement of finding a roommate and thinking about housing assignments, however, some important questions for potential roommates can be overlooked which leads to potential consequences down the road. Hindsight is 20/20 and I personally wish I would have asked my current roommate some of these questions before rooming together for the 2018-19 academic year. Ah, student loans, how I loathe you. I loathe what you've done to every generation of college student. I loathe how easy it is to sign up for you, how much you cost, and how long it takes to pay you off. Actually, I feel that way about all loans, but that's another story. :)

The First Year After College
I see the first year after college as being an extremely important one. And I don’t mean that you have to figure out your entire life in this year, I mean that you need to claim this time for the things that are going to develop you into the best version of yourself as you begin your adult life. This is a time to engage in some deep self-discovery, to take some risks for the things you care about, to resist any urge to define yourself or commit to one path and to prioritize your own growth above everything else.

Student Life from the Perspective of a Socially Awkward, T-Total, Broke and Clueless 18 Year Old
I'm writing this when I should be reading an article about Non-Interference in Southeast Asia as part of a group project for International Politics (by Lee Jones if anyone is remotely interested). Only five weeks in to year 1, and already I feel like I just can't be bothered; I should be sleeping, I should be finding a job so I can actually afford to live, I should be doing the reading for the next year that I didn't know existed until yesterday.
