Today I want to share my college education experience. One that is ongoing, but one that I feel people should hear. After High School, many feel like they are ready to conquer the world. Sadly, they have no idea what the world has in store for them. They follow the path that has been well worn by those before, and while this path may work for many; it does not work for everyone. This is a story about going off that path, the fear it instilled in me, the struggles it caused, and the passion it ignited.
Mark SmithPublished 6 years ago in EducationWhat Effect Do Gifted Programs Have on Kids?
When I started 1st grade, I was put into a gifted program at my local public school. We were the kids that supposedly had "high IQ's" and the ones who pretty much were believed to be geniuses since we were little kids. During my elementary school, we were taught in different techniques and we were raised thinking we were smarter than those who weren't in the gifted program. Fast-forward 11 years and now it's a completely different situation.

Invest in a planner and use it. It might seem a bit counterproductive to spend your time planning how you’re going to spend your time. However, this is the best way to figure out your schedule to maximize your productivity during the day. Invest in a planning system (such as a digital calendar/reminder, or even a physical planner) to plan out your goals, day-to-day tasks, and important events/deadlines.
Jasmine Smoot-LeyvaPublished 6 years ago in EducationHigh School vs. College
High school, like for many, was not a memorable time for me. It was actually the worst four years of my life, rather than teaching me about English and literature, I learned about the wonders of a common high school boy and how to professionally open a jammed locker. When you're in high school, graduating seems impossible. The SATs are a complete waste of time but are the main reason for stress for most students. The SATs determine so much yet factor in so little as to the diversity of education and the fact that everyone learns and interprets things differently. But that's something for another time.
Tamara NicotraPublished 6 years ago in EducationFirst Year Experience
My first year at University has just finished. I study Drama and Theatre at the University of Lincoln and I have loved every second of it. It has not been a breeze and there have been moments when I have thought about packing my bags and heading home but now that I've stuck it out, I honestly can say that I am so happy.
Becky GaskellPublished 6 years ago in EducationBreaking Barriers
A few years ago, I decided I wanted to go back to school and become a teacher. After a few years of feeling stagnant at my then safety job, it hit me one day that what really lit me up was watching kids learn and develop. I felt I was gifted at raising them up, and I couldn’t think of a better feeling than being surrounded with opportunities to help young people discover the world and themselves. Starting a new career path at 30 wasn’t that scary. Mature students, as they call us, are quite abundant these days.
Chelsea RaePublished 6 years ago in EducationThe Hardships of a Full-Time College Student with No Job
I've been a student at College of Southern Nevada since Spring of 2016. I am a Psychology Major and I am determined to earn my Associates Degree in Psychology. I later hope after graduating at College of Southern Nevada that I transfer to The University of Nevada, Las Vegas and earn my Bachelors of Psychology and my Masters of Psychology. Though that is definitely a challenge that I have to face. I use Financial Aide Pell Grants and my scholarship from The Veterans Affairs Chapter Thirty-Five benefits. I only have a certain amount of time to go to school and once I turn twenty-six years old, I have to be done with college and have a career in Psychology.
Mission Impossible: Staying Motivated to Study in College
Sometimes getting motivated isn't the problem, but staying motivated can be hard for some students. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Tresa and I am a #studygrammer. My main goal and the reason I start my studygram is to motivate my followers to study and help perfect their study habits.

One of the biggest challenges that the average English learner can face is not being able to interpret or understand the difference between direct and indirect speech. In order to really understand how they are formed and used, we first need to define these two terms and what they are supposed to represent.
