Schools are the best way to obtain a full curriculum, but there are ways to study online for free.

With the current state of the world, studying at an institution can be difficult. Many people are turning to the online world for their education.

While some schools offer an online curriculum, many platforms deliver an effective paid education at your fingertips. Luckily, you may choose to opt for a free alternative to education if your sole desire is to obtain knowledge and skills (and not a certified degree).

Many courses are available online at absolutely no cost. You may need to do your research to find which courses fit you best, but I'm confident that you will be able to find anything you need to study online for absolutely free.

One such way is to read textbooks. Luckily, Internet Archive offers free access to earlier editions of popular course material. To take full advantage of this resource, you will first need to visit the Open Syllabus Project.

https://opensyllabus.org/

There, you will be able to find the course curriculums of famous universities and the most assigned textbooks by professors from all around the world.

Once you have a textbook in mind which you would like to read, head over to the Internet Archive database:

https://archive.org

Hit advanced search and type in your book title under "Any field." For the Title input, select "does not contain" in the drop-down menu for the field and type in "study guide," which will prevent study guides from showing up in your search results. You may also submit the name of the author of the book you would like to read.

After that, select the textbook that you would like to read and hit the "borrow" button. You will need to register with a free account.

You may also research to reveal complete courses for you to take online.

You may need to dig a little deeper past the first page of search results, but some creators and instructors will post their courses online free of charge. Here is an example by TheCyberMentor. Co-founder of VetSec and founder of TheCyberMentor, this instructor offers his full Penetration Testing course via his YouTube channel as well as the FreeCodeCamp.org YouTube channel.

Another way to get free online courses is by referencing the Udemy database.

They offer paid courses as well as ones that are available free of charge. It is an excellent place to browse available programs and to get a brief introduction to a subject or software. Of course, this creates a new hurdle that we will need to address.

How to get free software online.

Depending on your niche, you may need to use software to enhance your working environment. For game developers, Unity offers a free account with access to their building software. It is mainly visual and does not require an excessive amount of coding knowledge or experience. If you are looking for development software, it would please you to know that you may find them online free of charge by adding "open source" to the search query.

This way, you may quickly find many blog articles that will list the various open-source 2D/3D modeling software you can use. One such software is called Blender.

Before using the software, you may research available courses for understanding the basics of using the program, such as the ones available on the Blender.org website.
