FACTS THAT WILL MAKE YOU SAY ‘I HAD NO IDEA’

- [Narrator] Consuming an excessive amount of carrots may result in the manifestation of an orange hue on your skin.

And sharks have existed for a longer duration than trees.

Captured your interest?

Excellent.

If you desire additional intriguing facts similar to those, simply remain attentive, as there is an abundance of them available. To uncover the explanation behind how a restful night's sleep can instantaneously increase your height or the rationale for avoiding banana-flavored candy in close proximity to a beehive, relax, get settled, and brace yourself to be astounded by a collection of the most extraordinary facts that will undoubtedly leave you exclaiming, "I was completely unaware." (soft suspenseful music) - Wow.

(bell rings)

- [Narrator] Frequently, the facts that captivate us the most are the ones that defy our assumptions. Keeping that in consideration, it may astonish you to discover that strawberries are not scientifically classified as berries. It's quite shocking, isn't it? The reality is that a berry falls under a highly specific categorization. It must possess not only an outer skin and a fleshy center, known as an exocarp and mesocarp respectively, but also internalized seeds.

According to the botanical definition, strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries have been deceiving us all along as they have external seeds and are actually a cluster of smaller fruits. The question arises, what fruits can be classified as berries? Surprisingly, blueberries, cranberries, watermelons, grapes, eggplants, and even bananas fall under the category of berries. It's unfortunate to say, but our entire life has been based on a false notion of what a "berry" truly is.

Did you know that oranges, despite their name, are not always orange? I'm not just referring to unripe fruit. It seems contradictory to the meaning of the word "orange," considering that the color in English was actually named after the fruit. The word "orange" is derived from the ancient Sanskrit word "naranga."

The text mentioned the orange tree specifically, however, it is peculiar that oranges can sometimes appear green. Oranges possess chlorophyll, a chemical that is green in color, which they utilize for photosynthesis. The quantity of chlorophyll present in an orange's skin is directly linked to the amount...

The level and strength of sun rays that an orange receives can vary. In extremely warm environments, oranges may generate additional chlorophyll to shield themselves from the sun.

By enabling them to redistribute the energy from sunlight, they can prevent both sun damage and dehydration.

In addition to turning the orange into a shade of green, it is worth noting that these green oranges are completely safe to consume. Contrary to popular belief, they are even said to possess a sweeter taste. It is a common misconception that these oranges have gone bad, but that is far from the truth. As Kermit famously stated, "It's not easy being green." On a related note, it is widely known that Kermit is romantically involved with the renowned puppet, Miss Piggy, who is considered one of Hollywood's most attractive figures. However, what many people may not realize is that beneath Piggy's voluminous blonde hair and upturned snout lies none other than Yoda. Now, I must admit that this claim may be a slight exaggeration, but allow me to provide some clarification.
