a staple of Science Fiction for decades but today it's becoming a reality flying cars are actually being developed and tested with some already available for pre-order and ready to hit the market in the near future in this video we'll explore current developments and everything you need to know about the future potential of these incredible machines get ready to soar as we dive into the world of flying cars and discover whether they are truly the future and make sure to stick around until the end where we'll be talking about the first flying car to pass FAA inspection and what will likely be the first flying car available in the U.S market flying cars won't just fly they'll offer a unique combination of air and ground transportation unlike traditional cars they are designed to take off and land vertically allowing them to bypass traffic and reach their destination faster there were two main types of flying cars being developed today those powered by Electric vertical takeoff and Landing technology evtol and those powered by conventional fuel evtol flying cars are powered by rechargeable batteries and electric motors and are designed to be environmentally friendly and quiet they are typically smaller than fuel-powered flying cars and can be charged like a regular electric car on the other hand fuel-powered flying cars are similar in design to traditional light aircraft and are powered by gasoline or other fossil fuels both types of flying cars look like a cross between a car and a small aircraft and will offer a new level of mobility and convenience to drivers if you're ready to take to the skies with your flying car you can already get on a pre-order list for the ASCA A5 prototype was recently unveiled at CES 2023 the aska A5 is a four-seater evtol vehicle that is powered by Electric batteries and a small gas engine according to aska it has the ability to drive on the road and fly up to 250 miles on a single charge the Prototype was designed to look like a standard SUV with a propeller and wings emerging from the top making it a blend of a car and a helicopter Eagle is designed to fit into a standard parking spot when in driving mode and require only 250 feet of Runway space for takeoff while the ASCA A5 is still in the Prototype stage it's already generating buzz and excitement among fans of flying cars pre-orders for the vehicle are now open with a five thousand dollar deposit and it is expected to be commercially available in 2026 pending FAA clearance in addition to selling the aska A5 the company is also planning to launch an on-demand ride service in 2026 making it possible for anyone to experience the thrill of flying without having to invest in the car themselves imagine calling an Uber and having a flying car show up [Music] flying cars are being developed outside of the us as well one of the most Innovative International projects is the air car V5 by Klein vision powered by a powerful 300 PS BMW engine the air car V5 can carry two passengers plus 450 pounds of cargo for over 600 miles and with a flight ceiling of 18 000 feet you'll be soaring higher than most turbo propeller planes what sets the air car V5 apart is that it has already secured the coveted certificate of air worthiness from the Slovak transport Authority and is on track to clear the European Union Aviation safety agency certification process this flying car has undergone rigorous testing including over 70 hours of flight time and various aerobatic Maneuvers so you can trust that it's built to soar kleinvision is also working on a variety of models including a four-seater an amphibious version in a long-range version for now the certification only applies to the two-seater that was recently tested the price of the air car V5 is expected to be close to that of a small airplane putting it in a league of high-end sports cars and well above the price range of regular cars as competition in the space heats up there are flying car companies popping up left and right with two other rising stars in the international Advanced Air Mobility scene are aeromobile and pal V International aeromobile's am 4.0 is a rotable aircraft from Slovakia that can drive down the road like a car and spread its wings to take flight when you reach the airport with a history dating back to 1990 Aero mobile has been working on a flying car for decades the am 4.0 is beginning assembly for delivery in 2023 with a total output of 300 horsepower it's a hybrid plane car that takes only three minutes to convert from car to plane this two-seater vehicle has a top speed of 160 miles per hour in the air and the estimated price according to reports is between 1.3 million dollars to 1.6 million dollars will aeromobile be able to remain competitive with such high prices only time will tell meanwhile pal V Liberty is opening a base in the UK to sell and promote its two-seater gyro plane which can transition from ground to flight mode in under six minutes with a top speed of 99 miles per hour on the ground and 113 miles per hour in the air the Liberty will be able to fly up to 313 miles and is expected to be certified under existing gyro plane rules in the third quarter of 2023 with prices starting at 304 thousand dollars and potential customer deliveries in 2024 the Liberty is attracting interest from commercial defense and private users and finally let's take a look at the Samson switchblade which has gotten the green light from the FAA and is on the fast track to becoming the first flying car available in the U.S market with a maximum altitude of Sixteen thousand feet and speeds of up to 190 miles per hour the switchblade is poised to be a fantastic flying machine on the ground it's expected to reach speeds of over 125 miles per hour making it a blaster Drive the process of converting the switchblade from car to airplane takes less than three minutes and the tail and wings swing out to reveal a sleet design that is ready to soar the switchblade runs on a three-cylinder 1.6 liter liquid-cooled engine that generates 190 horsepower and is capable of speeds of over 125 miles per hour with a full tank of gas it has a range of 450 miles and requires a 1100 feet runway for takeoff and a 700 feet Runway from Landing the switchblade will cost an estimated 150 thousand dollars and the company has already taken reservations for 1 670 units the switchblade will be sold as a kid aircraft and can be built in as little as a week with the help of the company's build assist Center once complete it will require an FAA inspection and a visit to the DMV for Street use the switchblade is designed to meet Park 23 standards for full certification so a fully certified version may be available in the future get ready to experience the magic of flight and the thrill of the open road with the Samson switchblade while the site of flying cars cruising down the street may seem like a scene straight out of the
