Reconsidering The Situation Again

Introduction

This is essentially kicked off by Mark Graham, a free Vocal Creator who said he is still getting paid for reads, when a part of the Vocal announcement was that free users would no longer get paid, which I think is wrong. Mark is very supportive, and because he is getting read is bringing in new readers to the Vocal platform.

I don't think Michelle Liew Tsui-Lin can even publish a story, and she is another excellent Vocal creator. Check out her work.

Really Reconsidering The Situation

I thought I would check my backup account, which is a free account, and found that I was being paid for reads in July.

24p, that was when I couldn't post on my V+ account because of the mess that Vocal have made of verification. They eventually verified my account so I could publish, but they will not let me connect my Vocal account to Stripe. I don't even get tips that other creators send me, so Vocal is sitting on the tips that should be in my account. Screenshots in this piece.

They have removed the support option and are not answering emails, but are still giving out Top Stories. A Top Story bonus is no use if you can't withdraw from your wallet. This is my wallet, no withdrawal option, only "Continue Stripe Set Up" which always fails.

Conclusion

I will keep writing, but I can see a lot of monthly payers just stopping. We l know Vocal can sort out the verification for people, so the implication is they are deliberately stopping people from full verification.

As I say, I hate writing things like this. I want to write fiction and poetry, but I need to put things like this out because of the situation for creators on Vocal.
