Quick question, I know that it should be done out of politeness and professionalism, but would we always have to ask permission from other author's to critique one of their publications? The comments section is one thing, but making an article about another's published work (whether the constructive criticism is positive, negative, or barely even constructive at all)? It is a public platforms with publicly published stories/poems/articles/etc., but would Vocal implement a system for two or more authors to even undergo such a thing? Like on several social media sites there's an @ feature. If somebody published a critique on one's published work how would the other person be notified besides the subscription notification bell, comments from others left on their own stories, and word of mouth? The critique community might just need to be critiqued for its purpose and how its utilized.

This is a great idea! Thank you!

  • Very interesting. This looks very much like what we have been drafting and putting together on the Facebook group Vocal+Assist. We're calling it Critique Circles.

Is there a minimum word count to place your post in this community?

Wow, now this is a community I hadn't thought of! I can't wait to help others cultivate their writing skills. And who knows, I might just use the community myself for advice, too! ^^
