A Quiet Place: Day One
Shocking, But Not In The Way I Expected

Introduction
I wasn't expecting to write this today, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, and so I want to share it with you.
This is a Netflix film, but I am not sure if it is available on other platforms.
I have seen the other films in this franchise and enjoyed them, and expected this one to follow the same sort of path.
It didn't.
I will not include any spoilers, but will say that if you can deal with the aliens, you will be rewarded by watching this.

Day One:
It starts in a hospice, and Lupita Nyong'o's character is suffering from a terminal illness. She has a cat.
The aliens hit.
The aliens track their prey by sound, any sound, so a miaowing cat is not likely to help survival, but the cat plays a big part in the film, or it did for me.
She is then semi-stalked by Joseph Quinn, and the film becomes a two-hander.
Empire describes it as a "surprisingly tender tale".
Despite being a horror, it took an unexpected turn for me and reminded me of the Apple TV film "The Gorge" which I covered here:
Conclusion
I thought this was an excellent film, and would recommend it to anyone who can take the roller coaster of the alien attacks.
Thank you for reading.
