And in 1979, these Mujahideen captured 25 out of 27 cities. But wait? How did it happen so easily? Because, to build a small warband, it needs guns, ammunition, vehicles, food supplies and a lot of cash! So how could so many militant groups develop on such a large scale ? But then on December 20, 1997, the Soviet Union killed Amin by sending in T54 tanks, MI24 helicopters and thousands of troops. And then Babrik Karmal was made the Prime Minister by the PDPA government. And there people were told that the USSR was helping them fight the extremists with the help of the communist government, not controlling Afghanistan! And seeing this, America loses its mind.
